Re: Your kids don't care how much you squat

Very true! The difference in how a kid grows up watching his parents trying hard (and succeeding) vs. having lazy parents who always take the path of least resistance... it's gotta be profound in how...

Re: new KB design by Rogue

It sounds like it's functionally just like a dumbbell but more compact? I guess it's easier to swing between your legs than a dumbbell, but without the weight being off center you can't use the...

Re: inflammation and paleo

No avocado or olive oil, but I do drip some ghee on the salad. I don't meticulously count calories, but when I've counted I hit 2500 very easily by the afternoon and am still hungry, and I have to...

Re: inflammation and paleo

Thanks for all the replies!

I don't think it's so much a matter of me eating more of other foods, as I'm finding that even one occasional medium bag of potato chips, with an otherwise low starch...

Re: Ice bath/cold soak - to do, or not to do?

Joe Rogan just had Wim Hof, aka the Iceman, on. They had a pretty interesting discussion of ice baths, cryotherapy, breathing, body temperature, etc.

Re: new KB design by Rogue

I'm confused as to how they get a hollowed out kb up to 88 lbs. Maybe they're bigger than they look.

Re: inflammation and paleo

I still do WODs/metcons, but I can't say I'm performing "good" in them, or that I ever did. I seem to still have energy for them. One thing in particular I've noticed is my muscles don't start...

Re: inflammation and paleo

Well I cut out grains completely. Brown rice was my last holdout. I did better on it than other grains, but now that I quit it I have more energy. No beans or potatoes either - they always made me...

inflammation and paleo

Has anyone noticed reduced inflammation from injuries since being on a paleo diet?

I've been on a pretty strict paleo diet for a few weeks, after finally ditching rice. I noticed possible signs...

Re: Light headed during cleans

It might just be me needing to adapt to the new diet. I am able to do more heavy work before getting light headed now. When it would come on, it would start at about the catch, before there's enough...

Light headed during cleans

I have been doing clean and jerks for a couple years, not really focusing on increasing the weight much. Lately I've gotten light headed while doing heavy cleans, and especially the jerk, and I'm...

Re: Putting rubber skids on a Rogue Monster Yoke

Isn't UHMW plastic pretty abrasion resistant? You might be able to get it to stay on by sanding and cleaning the surfaces and applying epoxy.

Re: Never ever buy Rage Fitness Products!

Are you sure they aren't asking for 2 photos, or 3 photos? It seems much more likely that 32 was a typo, or the person who told you 32 received instructions that included a typo. It just doesn't make...

Re: Slamball appears to have gone flat?

Pumping it up can help, but if it's leaking then it's leaking, and short of finding the leak and plugging it or the nozzle with some Goop or Shoe Goo, if that will even plug it well enough, then it's...

Re: Kettlebell Sandbag.

I'm going to check that out. I could use one when I start traveling again.

When searching around I also came across this. Nothing like carrying a heavy metal object in a small bag onto a plane and...

Re: Attaching Elite Rings to garage beams - Advice?

Those are just joists, not very strong. What you can do is screw a 2x4 across 3 or 4 joists, and then screw eye bolts into the 2x4. That will spread the load. That's what I did.

Re: No Room for a Rack? Not anymore!

It looks cool. So there's no load on the ceiling joists? What about after you fold it down many times, will the steel feet start shaving away a millimeter of concrete, enough to make the load...

Re: Sleeve for "battle" rope

How about a heat shrink sleeve made for pipes? I don't know anything about them other than they exist. You would want something flexible and lightweight so it doesn't hurt the rolling action of the...

You can't get cheaper than Feiyues. Not possible.

Re: Actual Weight of Kettlebells

It's funny how convincing that weight stamp is. I've known for years that weights can be off, but it never occurred to me to check the ones I use, aside from a few 10lb CAP plates a couple years ago...

Re: Actual Weight of Kettlebells

Some companies will guarantee kbs and other types of weights within a certain range. But that sometimes means they have to check each one individually, adding to the cost.

Re: Check out these barbells?

Where to begin...

I don't see any indication that the XMark bar is made by CAP. CAP doesn't make any bearing bars unless it's some obscure but high quality thing that they keep in the back room...
