Re: newbie with dreams of lifting

At least you stopped at 3 months instead of 4!! Glad you got a coach and I suggest (if you haven't already done so) finding a barbell/olympic lifting club in your area (your gym might even have one...

Re: Thinking of joining CF, but have a minor permanent disability.

Hey Amy,

I'd take your recommendation from your ortho to a few gyms in your area and talk with the coaches about what you want to accomplish, and what you think might be some possible limitations....

Re: Oly shoes sizes

Hey. You'll probably want to size up a 1/2 size since they run narrow. But don't worry they break in! I wore 10.5 Do Wins and my adidas were an 11. Fits like a glove now.

Re: Nano

I agree with Justin. I like my CF shoes to be more on the snug side versus having room in the toes like my running shoes. The snug fit cuts down on my feet from shifting within my shoes which is key...

Re: Are You a Supple Leopard Yet??

Got mine too. Amazing resource and something that should be used by all personal trainers. It's doing really well sales wise last I heard. I'm sure K Starr will be on Dr. Oz (or some other similar...

Re: Need help with conditioning

IDK if you'd want to do any endurance training but CFE might be a good place to start

Otherwise this is where coaching and programming come into play. What are...

Re: Training after surgery

Do it! It's an amazing resource and very easy to follow. I've been burning through it since I'm laid up on the couch 90% of the time. Was lucky enough to go to the release party last night. No one...

Re: First time ever doing ring muscle ups

Sick! I think I've spoken with Dominick in the past. You've already accomplished a huge obstacle (on your first day nonetheless!!) that many CFers face. I hope that you got hooked and decide to sign...

Re: Training after surgery

Hey Derek good luck with the surgery. I'm kind of in the same boat as you but nowhere as serious. I had surgery on my ankle a month ago that required them to put a rod and pin inside me. It was due...

Re: Deadlift Head Position

It's all about the double chin; a triple or quadruple chin is even better!!!

Glad to hear the "cult" is growing haha! Congrats to you and your coaches. Regionals should be a really fun event to attend. It definitely inspired me to kick my training up a notch.

Re: CrossFit Level 1 Course Review - March 2013

Thanks for the breakdown. The L1 is something I've always been interested in. It's good to hear they help the injured attendees out since I'd be coming back from one.

Re: Good Deadlift PR form?

Yeah definitely fix the neck. It's all about the double and triple chin action. Keep that spine neutral. Good work!

Re: Beach, or no?

Nothing beats running barefoot on the beach, jumping in the water to cool off, then running again!. Rinse and repeat!

I agree. the original nanos still sell for full price and when i talked to a reebok rep he said the 3's are a totally different shoe and not a replacement.

Re: Good Minimalist Shoe for Concrete Running?

The Merrell Bare Access 2 is nice because it has a 0mm heel drop with 8mm of cushion and the NB Minimus 10v2 is nice as well with a 4mm heel drop and good traction and cushioning!
