Re: Alternate Rope Braiding Technique

Very very cool! Thanks for sharing.

I found a 4 strand braid wasn't too hard to manage but a 6 or 8 became unwieldy. The problem with 4 strand is that your base cord needs to be thick in order to...

Re: Member who wants it his way.

You are welcome to disagree. But you would be incorrect if you claimed that Fran was "designed" or "programmed" to hit any particular time frame or time limit, or that by taking 9mins or 15mins or...

Re: Member who wants it his way.

Slightly O.T.
w.r.t time expectations for Fran etc., here is a quote from the original article:

"With that in mind there’s no shame in taking 60 minutes to polish off one of these workouts. If the...

Re: Stand/Platform vs Power Cage

most well designed power cages let you do pullups, dips, hang rings etc.
I'd look at which option delivers most versatility per sqft. When a squat stand is not in use for holding a bar it is just...

Re: Muscle Clamp Collars Okay For Dropping/Feedback/Review??

spring clips are better value and hold just as well if not better. For the price you could even get 2 pairs to double up for better grip.

Re: Home Depot - mats

I have these in my home space but just for the areas where I do pullups pushups etc. I lift on the bare concrete.

Pros: cheap, easy to clean, easy to reconfigure
Cons: slippery, squishy

I think these are cheaper persqft than paint, and reusable/movable.
It's like a big white board post-it note.

Re: Debating getting aluminum vs junior technique bar

pile up some pillows or junk carpet where the bare collars on your junk bar will hit. Definitely the budget solution.

Something else to consider is how a new bar will work with whatever...

Re: Rogue hg vs Rogue hi-temps bumper plates

I think you are more likely to break the metal plates than damage the bar. At least based on the carnage I have seen over the years. Metal plates tend to spall off or shatter at the lip around the 2"...

Re: Rogue hg vs Rogue hi-temps bumper plates

I suspect that they are actually NOT all the same width. I don't have the Rogue HG but I think they are just rebranded Chinese made virgin rubber plates similar to the Pendlay Econ V1 (I have), and...

Re: Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

gauge sizing is roughly : thickness in inches=1/gauge

11 gauge is about 3mm.

I'll send a note when I am down. Good luck with your build-out

Re: Making my own Infinity Rig Steel question

6mm is double the wall thickness of 11 gauge. I hope you won't need to move it around much! That will be very strong as long as your welding is done well - with that thick steel you can end up with...

Re: What bar should I look to get next?

You can buy any of the discussed bars from a Canadian vendor.

Re: Pull Bar help

can you bolt to the floor?

the Rogue pullup rigs are a nice solution to putting in a "temporary" structure. At least on it the p-bars themselves are quite high up, so kids can't really crawl around...

Re: Basement Gym Floor Questions

Stall mats aren't going to do much to prevent the concrete cracking if it is susceptible to that. Stall mats don't distribute the force over a larger area, because they are bendy. You will need some...
