Re: Improving pushups article

Re: Some tips for a better/more proper deadlift

No, not if he moves his torso forward so that his scapulas are over the bar instead of the top of his shoulders. If he makes that correction without changing his knee angle, the knees will move...

Re: Some tips for a better/more proper deadlift

Knees a little more forward, and hips a little higher. Seen from the side, your arms should not be perfectly straight up-and-down, but should be slanted back slightly if your scapulas are directly...

Re: crossfit total

Squat: Look down. Current eye position is pulling your head up and your knees forward at the bottom of the lift, killing your hip drive. Need to find the bottom for full depth, and hit it with a...

Re: New, Nervous, Recovering and Need Help!

You need to eat. A lot. People without any sort of disorder have difficulty understanding the amount of food they need to eat in order to recover from high intensity workouts.

Will CrossFit make...

Re: CFT Competition Question

Start with a weight you know you can do for a triple. That way you definitely get something on the board, and lose the nerves. Next attempt should be a PR by the smallest increment available - 1kg...

Re: Squat & Deadlift Form Check

If you're going to compete, you'll need to lose the straps eventually anyway. Hook grip is a good way to train, since you can get a higher lift than with overhand without introducing asymmetry. But...

Re: Mens Health Magazine/ Congrats Andy Petranek?

The problem with getting credited with the current training strategy (other than the fact that no CF affiliates advertise in Men's Health) is that we would also be explicitly cited as ineffective and...

Re: Asked to stop lifting at gym, with a fun twist

Interesting idea on the silent platform, Matt. I wonder if there's any way to adapt a current platform with something similar. He did talk about moving a softer rubber mat under the platform, so...

Re: Asked to stop lifting at gym, with a fun twist

I've actually got a pretty good relationship with the owner, and a couple of the senior trainers. I talked with him some more after this - the heart of the issue seems to be the ridiculous building...

Re: Asked to stop lifting at gym, with a fun twist
