I was in a very similar situation. I'm 6'2 and was almost 300lbs this time last year. My blood pressure was also medication worthy but I refused it.

Long story short: Today I'm 229lbs...

Update: Due to a nagging rotator cuff strain, I havent done anything noteworthy. I still go to Crossfit but I keep the intensity low and work on range of motion and flexibility.
