Re: Homemade calf raise machine
I would like to recommend seated calf raises, they tend to target the soleus when the knee is bent at 90 degrees, but the gastrocs will definetly get involved. For me the soleus seems to be involved...

Re: Hijack thread
However, I think the US Gov't. has once again turned away from the average working man, and instead funded a study on the hope that a cat strapped to buttered toast, (butter AWAY from the cat) is how...

Re: Hijack thread
I think the cat will totally rule the toast, since I don't think you mentioned that the toast was buttered when it was put upon the cat.

I know, right? But I think it'll be alright - my sons started their Zombie Defense training on the Wii last week.

So if you're ever in town, look me up. The Black Butte Porter on tap at the RB Smokin' Barbeque is the ambrosia salad of beers.
First round's on me.

Re: Hardest workout you've ever done?
I haven't finished one yet, and that with only 95#.
This is the only workout I haven't been able to finish....
...I quit on Linda once but finish it strong now.
Kalsu for me is a will breaker.

This one is a good start, it's only 6 weeks, 3 days per week, plenty of good volume.
Enough that I noticed a change over the course in my comfort and confidence under the bar due to...

Those rings are gym-dandy.
The skin on the outside of your elbows
will be glad when you get those straps.

Re: Concept 2 Indoor Rower Model C w/ PM2
I have never been limited by my Model C w/ PM2
to do a WOD.
I recently did a cool 500 meter-rep / 1-minute rest
interval for 5 rounds on a Model D/ PM3 that is pre-
programmed into the monitor....

Re: Concept 2 Indoor Rower Model C w/ PM2
I'm gonna channel Sling Blade and ask what should be obvious:
Does it have fresh batteries?
Is the monitor plugged in?
I spent $450.00 on a fully intact and functional
Model 2 with a working...

Re: Fractional Plates worth the money?
Okay, I got curious and looked up the prices on
the Fastenal web site; the 2" washers
are at about $3.50 apiece - so the $1.00
I quoted earlier was a slight understatement.

Re: Fractional Plates worth the money?
I bought six 2_inch I.D. washers at a place called Fastenal for $6.00. They weigh ~ 1.5 lbs.
They are well worth the price...Cheaper than a movie theater ticket, and more lasting fun.

How much weight is the desired goal

I've had 140 lbs. on it without a groan,
