Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I agree!! I have a maternity shoot in a week and a half; I may have to steal this staging for a pic or two! :) Different attire, though; people might wonder why the hell I'm wearing a fur-lined...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

Oh, if I could be so lucky! Lol. I did just learn that my mom had quick deliveries for my older sister and brother; hopefully there's a correlation between mom/daughter L&Ds! :)

Yeah, makes...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I don't believe she would be opposed to my wishes. That is just her "usual" plan in the case that I haven't gone into labor on my own by 41 weeks. She seems very open to patient wishes, from allowing...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

Hell, after hearing about your 4 successful, medication-free deliveries, I want you as MY doula, haha! What an amazing experience to share with your sister! :)

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I stand corrected! I just commented I hadn't yet spoken to anyone who had pitocin and made it through without and epidural. Maybe it's because it was such a short time. Other stories I have heard...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

This is a very common experience it seems! I have not spoken to anyone yet who had to be induced with pitocin/artificial rupturing of the membrane and made it through without the epidural. Several...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I expect that to be the reality of it! Lol. I know pain perception is, like Matt stated above, based on past experiences in dealing with pain, expectations, and how you respond to it. Having these...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

That's an important factor to consider! Just to make sure I don't have an inaccurate recollection of my pain tolerance, I'll have to ask my husband how he feels I handled pain from previous surgeries...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I bet she is! True for any CF-ing woman. :)

That's what I feel like telling the women who insist I am going to cave in the end and get the epidural: "No I'm not, because I'm not a pansy like...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

That is encouraging to hear! The women I have talked to just go on about the pain, the pain, how much it's going to hurt - which I expect it will, but I wonder about the difference in pain thresholds...

Re: CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

Thanks for your reply, Veronica! I didn't mean to imply that only CFers should respond and I'm glad that you did! It is reassuring to hear from someone who has experienced multiple natural births. ...

CF Moms - Labor & delivery/birthing experiences?

I searched for a thread that already addresses this, but couldn't find one. Maybe I was using the wrong key words; if anyone can direct me to an existing thread, I would appreciate it! :)

I am 36...

Re: Mind Body to Zen Planner

We've been using MBO for about a year and a half as well. I loved it at first but lately it just seems to be more software than I need. It has some very powerful tools and features, but it seems I...

Re: Most Embarassing Crossfit Moments

Surprisingly, it actually wasn't too bad! The most painful part was when I would forget that I had injured myself and try to lean back on my elbow or do any pushing exercises. I would remember very...

Re: Most Embarassing Crossfit Moments

I did this a few months ago...using a swing bar, my grip slipped mid-butterfly (on rep #2 of Barbara Round 1) and I literally flew off the bar and landed on my mid-back. No one was around so I got...

I had discomfort that is identical to what you are describing and it turned out that I had a small tear in the hamstring muscle right below where it attaches at the ischial tuberosity. I hope that...
