Re: Clean pulls and snatch pulls question
In either one, you're supposed to be doing the pull as if you would do a normal clean or snatch. You simply don't go under the bar. But, you should do the pull to extension, up on toes and shrug...

Re: Coop's Garage Gym
While I applaud home gyms and walk-throughs, 20 minutes is way too long for me to sit and watch.
I got a sense of it from the wide shot at the beginning, and Great Job!!

Re: Platform noise issues
These were the ones I was thinking of:
http://www.amazon.com/PlayFall-Playground-Safety-Surfacing-Pallet/dp/B007FGXJQY
They're 24" x 24" and 1.75" thick. Plus, they're cheaper than most others...

Re: Platform noise issues
I'm thinking about doing this!! Putting a layer of stall mats down under the platform. I'm also looking at those playground-style mats that are like 1.5"-2" thick. Not sure which I'm going with,...

Re: Platform noise issues
One thing you can do is put some carpet padding under the platform. Also, you can glue the pieces together if you didn't when you built it.

Re: Barbell spin tests
Can it make a difference? Yes, it can. The spin tests are basically trying to show how freely the sleeve spins, not necessarily how many times it goes around. Notice that most bars will spin...

Re: Snatch and c&j coaching
To work on pulling under the bar, try tall snatches. The form I used to get so much better at this is: stand with the bar at arm's length in the hip crease, start by going up onto the toes and...

Re: Where to store my Eleiko
I think you'll be fine. I have a ZKC hard chrome bar, lived in the DFW area for 9 years with it and had NO issues with rust. So long as you keep the chalk build-up down, you'll have no problems.

Re: Snatch and c&j coaching
Starting with hips higher is a good way to work on the issue. Most people have a bad habit of starting with hips too low, IMHO. I got into that habit with all the stuff going around the internet. ...

Re: Snatch and c&j coaching
Well, there's a few things you could work on. In the first pull your hips are rising too fast causing you to get on your toes and be forward, both snatch and clean. You bend your arms to bring the...

Re: Rogue - Black Friday?
Pretty much this!!
Last year I got a Rogue S-2 and bench, along with the rest of the items to make 5, and all shipped for $5. Way cheaper!!

Re: Reducing noise during deadlifts
In addition to the carpet and bumpers, consider ballistic rubber tiles as used on playgrounds, anywhere from 1.5" to 2.5" thick. I've lifted on these and they are the quietest rubber tiles I've ever...

Re: OHS critique
That sounds pretty good. With the OHS+pause, I would do something like triples, however many sets you can do, up to 5 or so. For the sots press, something like 3-5 sets of 5's will do you well.

Re: OHS critique
I'm not really a coach, so you might get better opinions from others on what would be better to do. My thought would be to perform OHS at least once a week with a pause in the bottom. Another day,...

Re: OHS critique
There is a slight difference between the 2. IMHO, I think the left is slightly better in terms of keeping your torso more vertical. However, I also think the difference is very minimal. I think...

Re: Bottom of Snatch
Internal v. external rotation in the shoulders is going to be somewhat determined by your shoulder joint. There's only going to be so much you can do to improve it. You'll see lots of examples of...

Both look fine, really. The front squat looks better in terms of hitting the bottom position and catching a slight bounce/rebound. In the back squat video, your facial expression leads me to...

Link to said bar? I've never seen bars with rubber end caps.
Also, what kind of workouts are you mostly going to be doing with this bar?

Re: Help with Overhead Squat
You can tell you're not really that comfortable down in the bottom of the OHS. So, I would not rush the movement. Go down slow, sit there for a few seconds, then come up slow and under control. ...
