Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread

I'd just like to point out something. You're wrong regarding them posting videos calling out actions to NHL.COM.

Here's a whole list of videos from the NHL Department of player safety that include...

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread

I don't know if I've seen this mentioned here, but can someone clarify? I heard a rumor (and then saw it in a video: the one about the format changes between 2012 and 2011, at the 7:30 mark or so)...

Re: Deborah Cordner

I think the only way to find that out would be to go back and watch the events live streamed, if you can, or ask her directly.

The rules seemed to be, if you DNF'd event one, you were basically...

I can understand the frustration, but if you click on his name, go to his profile, and select "Add ___ to Ignore List", you will not see his direct posts ever again unless you choose to.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Right, but the speed of the throw doesn't matter here. The power does. An outfielder's ability to hit the mark near home from a runner moving after the catch is FAR more important in this event...

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Yeah, but you lose accuracy with a softball. Lighter and bigger. Your outfielders will have a better throw for pure power.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

What position did he play? If he played anything infield, he wouldn't have needed to throw that hard.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I guess this answers the question regarding whether or not we're going to have commentators. And the answer is no.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I think it's standard that if you have a water rescue, you must be checked out by medics.

Also wondering about jellyfish or other such things.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I'm really, really surprised a 210 meter swim did that much damage. Even open water, that's not much of a swim at all. Surf-Temperature.com is reporting the water temp at 66 degrees, so it's not...

CF Games 2011 General Thread

Okay, I know that I'm not official CFHQ, but it'd be handy to have this here, since I can't get the live feed to work :P

Rob Orlando out of the competition? What the heck!? Did he get pulled out...

Re: Surprises in the 2011 Games TEAM Rosters

A lot of automatic qualifiers competed on teams to get them in, and then are regging for the games as individuals. Julie Foucier (spelling may be incorrect) of HyperFit/AnnArbor did the same.

(BTW,...

Re: Tabata - what resistance?

And to further that... as someone told me.. there is a difference between a Tabata and a 20/10 work/rest interval.

Tabatas are at ULTRA INTENSE levels. You're aiming for 170% of V o2 max (even...

Hi Mandy!

I'm new to this myself, just almost two months in. Yeah, we sometimes look dead when we're done with this, especially in situations where we push ourselves heavily. To add to what...

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Well, that's good to know :)

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic (well, okay, maybe I was a little), but it seems like you can get ratings for just about anything nowadays.

Running Woes

Okay, so, in identifying weaknesses, I found a biggie. Running. I cannot maintain a good 400m jog/run. I know, running is a big part for everyone.

Currently, I'm doing M-W-F at the box, and...
