Re: Medicine Ball Prescription?

I've only used the Dynamax balls a handful of times but they were pretty solid. We use the Rage ones at my gym and I've had no complaints. For about $30 cheaper it's not like you're skimping on any...

Congratulations on the PR. Something you might want to read regarding translation to the clean though:

Deep Enough?

230x10 Back Squat here. First time squatting with knee sleeves and I felt like I was hitting depth but when I watched the video a few reps looked a little iffy? Is this normal when transitioning to...

Re: Accreditation on Level 1 Cert

How long ago did you get your cert? I got mine back in February '10 while they were in the process of becoming ANSI certified. I took the old one home with me from the Level 1 and got the new...

Re: Skeletoes - My 1 week review

You mean to say, you dropped $50+ on Skeletoes only to purchase VFF's at a later date?

Re: Is it possible to do band work with the Rogue S1?

If you have them, use heavy dumbbells to anchor. If you don't have heavy enough db's you can double up and crisscross them. Alternatively, if you don't have db's you can take a plate and thread part...

Re: Clean and Jerk Form

Only watched the first video but here's what I got.

On the clean:
You're ripping the bar off the floor. The first pull from the ground to the knees should be SLOW and controlled.

You shoot your...

Re: Lvl 1 Cert questions

If you want to train people at a CrossFit facility, a Level 1 is absolutely necessary. If you want to train people at a globo-gym but have them do CrossFit style workouts, it is absolutely necessary....

Re: Wrist wraps/Rogue wrist wraps?

Maybe that was a bit of an overstatement. I personally like using them because my wrists kill if I go overhead or bench heavy without them. I know guys who are great athletes who swear by them. No...

Re: Level 1 Cert

Cert couldn't be more hands on. You have around 7 45min to an hour long lectures which are taught whiteboard style. The instructors are very enthusiastic and use every opportunity to pull students...

Re: Your 2011 Crossfit Games competitor "Power Trio Of Hotness" list

Katie Hogan is certainly underrated. My top three is Stacie Tovar, Julie Foucher, and Camille. Honorable mention goes out to Katie Hogan, Gretchen Kittelberger (sp?) and Lindsey Smith.

Re: Wrist wraps/Rogue wrist wraps?

Length is also a matter of personal preference. Before I got the Schiek wraps I use now (which are 12"/30cm) I had a pair of Harbinger wraps which were 24" or 60cm. Only difference is that the longer...

Re: Wrist wraps/Rogue wrist wraps?

Wraps can be used for a variety of lifts. Personally, I use them whenever I go overhead so any press/pushpress/push jerk/split jerk or overhead squats and snatches. Some people like them when they...

Re: Logs

That's what I'm going to end up with. Have you ever used it in a rack? My concern with it being 4' if I'm just wanting to do just presses off of the rack with it that it will be too small/the sleeves...

Re: which bar for home gym

I've never used the Beater bar or the Bruiser bar but at my box, the Rogue bar is the only bar I use. It's a great all around bar. Holds chalk well, knurl isn't too sharp, spin is pretty good,...

Re: Logs

Got a very good price on a 10" log from Pitbull. 12" would be about $125 more. Is the extra two inches worth the price?

Re: Recording help (new to it)

I record myself with my iPhone too. As someone who works out alone it's invaluable to be able to self critique and have others critique you as well. What I do is I'll open the camera and then figure...
