Re: Does a 25lb. Hi Temp bumper plate actually weight 25 lbs.?

I have not weighed mine, but I would be willing to bet yours is a misstamped 25lb plate. One of my 25lb plates was misstamped as a 25 "kilo" plate (and I can assure it does not weigh 25 kilos).

Re: Rebuilding Momma: An Experiment

Three of my favorites! (I am partial to the 85% Lindt). Add in frozen strawberries and you have all of my favorites covered. Mix everything together and you have a delicious smoothie. Yum! ...

Re: SAD efforts

Sorry to hear about the knee, Sean. It sounds like surgery may be the best course of action. The upside is that it provides some light at the end of the tunnel. Rather than being left wondering...

Re: SAD efforts

You should hear my shoulders and knees when I move. I sound like a bowl of rice krispies! My PT could barely manage to ask me, between laughs, if I knew I had arthritis in my joints. I was not...

Re: Rebuilding Momma: An Experiment

Hi, Sean. Just remember that surgeons like to cut on things. :yikes: I have seen a surgeon about both of my shouders and was told that I should either stop doing "X" or have both of them operated...

Re: Migraines - anyone get them?

Ouch! I have done the sitting in the shower with the lights out thing. I have never felt worse :((and no, I have not experienced natural childbirth, but I did watch my wife threated to decapitate a...

Re: Squat form check

I did this backwards. I read the comments first and then watched the video. Very interesting. Donald and Michael nailed it. The opening of the knee and hip angle should be coordinated--not...

Re: Are heavy squats really necessary?

Based on your posts, I think the answer lies in the fact that everything else did not stay the same. It sounds like you added muscle mass (and probably weight generally on SS). It sounds like you...

Re: Rest Days

I think most folks would agree that a LIGHT jog or walk is okay, but rest should be paramount. Few can sustain the CF pace without complete rest on the rest days and most of us mere mortals end up...

Re: whole milk - I asked my doctor today

Dave, thanks for weighing with a voice of reason. GOMAD can be very good. GOMAD can be very bad. It depends on who you are and what you are doing when you are not drinking milk.

Re: First Video to Post - Front Squat Check Please!!

Agree with the above. One minor observation: It looks like you are having to stand on your toes to un-rack and re-rack the bar. If that is the case, you have the bar racked too high. The bar...

Re: Ryan's Quest to Learn the Snatch

Ryan:

I understand you may prefer to focus on strength, but you should not assume that improving your strength will correct your technique. Your technique will only improve if you employ exercises...

Re: "Attention Women: Avoid these Exercises"- Article in the Tribune and the AJC

Well spotted, Christin. The article truly is rubbish, and it is amazing that so many (formerly) reputable newspapers would publish it. I guess we need to ramp up efforts to educate the public at...

Re: Exertion Headache

A lot of folks get exertional headaches from the Metcons, myself included. Mine have become less of a problem the longer I have been CrossFitting. I rarely get them now, except when I really push...

Re: CrossFit Total

Brian,

As you have already noted, life is a balancing act and you have to find the balance that works for you. I think what most folks are trying to suggest is that you can set your sights a bit...

Residual pain is not unusual, but it should not prevent you from performing the CrossFit WODs (although it may impede other types of workouts). ;)

Re: Just Starting... I have some questions!

Folks here are friendly, but they expect that people new to Crossfit will investigate a bit before asking questions that are covered in the "FAQ" and "Start Here" and "What is CrossFit?" pages. ...

Re: How Long After a Ankle Sprain?

Max,

There are three grades of ankle sprains, which can be diagnosed through physical examination and x-rays. The difference is the severity of the tear of the ankle ligaments. Grade I is a mild...

I do not think Joshua intended to suggest this, but I do not want anyone to be left with the impression that Glenn only responds if you post on the CrossFit boards--because that is not the case at...
