Re: Can't lift heavy or run....now what?

Re: Clean at 80%

I would say bring your butt down in your setup. Less like a deadlift more like a clean. Knees forward of the bar is fine, as they come back during first pull.

Re: Critique my clean

You need to actively pull the bar back towards you - should come back behind the knees as you come up past them.

Re: snatch problem / long femurs

I have awkwardly long femurs as well. Her hips are going to have to be higher than most peoples' during the lift to get the shins vertical - I was trying to keep mine down to avoid the hips rising...

Re: Snatch

It's hard to tell from the angle of the video, but looks like you may have your weight shifted forward too much at the start of the lift. Watch some videos on youtube and see where the shoulder is...

Re: King Kongs

So here's the story... Did it yesterday and kept failing the last clean on the last set. Couldn't live with myself, so I re-did it today after doing that and another weighted metcon last night. ...

Re: Strength Gains With Creatine

Dude, honestly with how cheap creatine is, it probably doesn't make a world of difference if you take 5 or 10 grams per day.

Re: Strength Gains With Creatine

Creatine is relatively safe to take and one of the more studied supplements out there. I'd take 10g per day immediately after training with some simple sugars. Basically the idea with creatine is...

Re: Stop Anthos from Taking over CrossFit

I've never sawed off my left nut before, but I bet it probably wouldn't be a pleasant experience.

Re: Bogus Crossfit

Definitely rings true. However almost as bad is when someone tells me "Crossfit? Yeah, I did Crossfit. This (insert globo name here) gym has a Crossfit class!"

Re: Very Low T at 30

Hey, i'm not a doctor but I completely disagree with you here. 400 is NOT optimal, it's WITHIN RANGE. I am close to more than a few people who were 400 or under, went on 200mg/week of test cyp for...

Re: Overhead Squat / Snatch Recovery Issue

Yes, I lose it forward. I was focusing on pushing my knees to the sides, think maybe I should visualize a front squat, let the knees come forward as such. This may fix that forward lean? My...

Overhead Squat / Snatch Recovery Issue

Re: 2 WODs - 1 Day?

I think it very much depends on the total volume of the workouts and your ability to handle that volume. For instance, everybody was making a big deal out of Rich Froning's "day in the life" video...

Re: Dropping the deadlift?

The eccentric portion of the deadlift is part of the movement. In power lifting, you cannot drop the bar. You must lower it in a "controlled fashion." This is done for a reason. In a metcon, when...

A case for a "Competitive Crossfit" forum

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but why hasn't a forum for Games talk and competing in Crossfit specifically been made?

I think it would be cool to have a section of this board for...

I train at Eric's old stomping grounds - I can attest...The Rogue equipment has held up far longer, in fact the Garage Gym stuff we have is the most blown out of anything. I would say that it's...

Re: Front squats vs back squats

Stephen, you don't necessarily have to grip super close, if that's what you're doing. It can be individualized.
