Re: Leveling a Weightlifting Platform (Compound Angle)

Wow, that looks like a fair amount of work. Nice job.

Are all garage floors uneven? Because I also built my platform in the garage, but I have to say it seems pretty level to me. However, I haven't...

Re: Poor Wrist Strength

I also have weak girly-sized wrists.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend your plan of using other movements. I'd say do the prescribed movements, just use lighter weights if your wrists are too weak....

Re: Pendlay Barbell 2010 Series Weightlifting Shoe

I just started training in these shoes about 2 weeks ago. Previously, I had been wearing an older (2004) pair of Do-Wins.

I really like the new shoe, comfortable and stable. Seems lighter than the...

Re: Power Cleans Form Check

Not that I'm much better, but...

Just off the start, I notice your shoulders are rounded and seem to be a little too far over the bar. Your arms aren't vertical. And, you're barefoot?

Re: Cleans and clearing the knees (long arms & legs)

I'm new to OL, but had a similar issue. I'm 6'1", with fairly long arms and legs. I agree that you have to get your knees out of the way of the bar. I had to work on flaring my knees out slightly...

Re: New to Olympic Lifting - Several Videos

Thanks for taking the time, guys. I know you are experienced lifters, and I appreciate you helping a wanna-be amateur like myself.

Mr. Pendlay, sorry the videos didn't load. Perhaps YouTube was...

Re: Article: Vibram FiveFingers and Weight Training

I actually think some of the strictness in judging the bench is an effort to bring the bench numbers back into reality. Sometimes it's a bit overly strict and frustrating, but I think I tend to...

Re: New to Olympic Lifting - Several Videos

Matt, thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it, you've defined a couple things I can focus on and practice during tonight's work out.

I was starting to think the videos were just so horrible...

Re: New to Olympic Lifting - Several Videos

Huh, crickets.

Oh well. I think this one video really details the main problem I'm having, and that is with shoulder flexibility in the snatch.

Re: A Tale of 3 High-End Olympic Weightlifting Bars

Nice review, Mr. Freund. In my home gym, I actually have one of the combinations you recommend, the new Pendlay bearing bar and the B & R Bar.

The only other weightlifting bars I've tried are an...

Arrow New to Olympic Lifting - Several Videos

Hey y'all, thanks for the help. I'd really appreciate any advice you might have. I know I need some work.

I've been training for Olympic weightlifting for about 3-4 months now. I come from the...

Re: Can you use Hi-Tech plates with others bumpers?

Thanks for the advice guys.

I will look into purchasing a light-weight bar. That might also come in handy if I have some friends over to train.

I was basically wondering if I could use the Hi-Techs...

Re: What benches does everyone have?

I do like that bench. I'm sure it's quite sturdy. Alas, it's 10 inches wide. Just too narrow, if you ask me. However, there are some ruminations that they may be offering a 12" wide version at some...

Re: Warehouse Gym... Finally

Wow, very nice.

I love those tire sleds. And I imagine they're less noisy pulling up and down the street. (Less griping from the neighbors) Is there a post somewhere about how to make the tire...

Re: More Data and Follow-Up on Bumper Plates

Is there a difference between the Rogue HG plates and the Pendlay plates? Are they basically the same?

Question Can you use Hi-Tech plates with others bumpers?

I'm looking at getting a set of Hi-Tech 10-lb. plates so my girlfriend can do some training with me. However, they are rather expensive.

My question is... can I use them on the bar during my...

Re: What benches does everyone have?

Wow, that looks like a great bench. It is 12" wide. But yah, with shipping it's almost $400. I hear what you're saying, that's quite a bit of investment.

Question What benches does everyone have?

I know bench pressing is somewhat pointless, but I do still enjoy it occasionally. I also like to have a nice sturdy bench for doing a few other exercises.

I've been reading this board quite a bit,...
