Re: question??

One of the benefits of Crossfit is the ability to mix strength training with endurance training in the same workout. If you are to only focus on one or the other, you won't be getting the full...

Re: reebok CF

Here in Texas the Rebook site states that Dick's Sportinggoods will carry the Nanos and Olys. I have not seen them in any Dicks store. The sales people no nothing about them either. I found the...

Need help with the Clean

For the life of me, I can't get back on my heels when cleaning any significant weight. I really think that it is a flexibility issue in my hips. Or it is psychological and I am in my own head. ...

Re: Zone Assistance (outlway training)

Honestly, your body should tell you how much food you need, not a Zone book. If everyone were the same, then the book would be great. If you are feeling weak and tired, add another block, then...

Re: which supplements???

I feel BCAAs don't necessarily make me feel stronger, but help me recover faster.

Re: Double Unders

I agree with the YouTube videos. I couldn't get one DU to save my life. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and saw how smooth and controlled the motion is. It doesn't look forced. Also moving...

Re: Proposed supplement plan

As the OP, I am fine with this conversation. Honestly, I have a solid plan that I am sticking with.

As for the rest of the conversations, with a topic such as nutrition that most people take so...

Re: Zone Question

Thanks for the input. The problem with my old "diet" was there was no ratio of nutrients. I didn't try to achieve a level of protein. I just ate what I wanted, as long as it wasn't junk. I am looking...

Re: Proposed supplement plan

By eating right and doing Crossfit regularly, aren't you achieving both at the same time?

Zone Question

I know that there is a lot of great Zone Diet information here and I have searched and read through a lot (if not most) of it. That said, there are some conflicting items. Wanted your guys opinion...

Re: Proposed supplement plan

Could be, but I don't attribute the decrease in muscle soreness to form. Either way, I get it. Some don't believe in supplements, some do. I am seeking some advice from those that are of like mind...

Re: Dropping the deadlift?

That is one way to unrack it.

I drop the weight during WODs. I like the sound.

Re: Just joined the Army and need help.

Good point. I didn't deploy to Iraq until about 4 years after joining, so I was in all around shape by then. Had I joined later and deployed right out of Basic, I would have been in a world of hurt.

Re: Proposed supplement plan

Funny how advice is all over the place. I can tell you that since I have started the BCAAs and the Creatine, I feel stronger. I am increasing my PR weight on Olympic lifts faster than when I wasn't...

Re: Proposed supplement plan

I am taking Chain'd Out BCAAs. Appletini flavor is all that they had. Maybe grape would be better?

Re: Just joined the Army and need help.

Did 5 years in the Army. As others said, start running. I was a skinny kid, so I could have benefited from some lifting before I shipped off to Basic. I definitely should have working on running...

Re: Anyone used a "calories burned" device?

I wear a Nike FuelBand, but it is probably the most inaccurate way to measure calorie burn.

Re: Need some critiquing on my nutrition

Yeah, in the Army at least, the overweight get thinner and the skinny guys get more muscular.

Proposed supplement plan

Currently I am taking BCAAs during my workout (drinking on the way to the box and throughout my WOD). I am also taking Creatine in my post workout protein shake (whey with flaxseed and a spoon of...

Re: New to CrossFit

I couldn't make it today. I had a work issue going on since 3am and, to be totally honest, I am having trouble walking today. :) I think that I am going to take a long rest break to recover and...

Re: New to CrossFit

Oh and more about my goals:

Currently I am 6' 1" and 210 pounds. I am fairly muscular, but have a large belly from indulging too much in beer and fast food. When I was younger I never had to...

New to CrossFit

So I went to the local box yesterday morning and tackled my first WOD. Man, they broke me off. I am a casual weight lifter and generally strong. I am not conditioned though. Actually, my cardio...
