Re: Regional Daily Schedule

My guess would be teams first since individual is the biggest draw.

Re: Best CF WODs to test fitness

OP:

I bet I can run the Iditarod WAYYY faster than Rezazadeh and then post a better total than his Iditarod time in relation to each events awesomeness.

(Hint I would win because he would...

Re: Marathon training 'the right way'

It's very well written in case one isn't motivated enough to get through the books. Hits the high points clearly. I know a lot of folks aren't very big on the lydiard system though.

Re: Marathon training 'the right way'

And when you go to the messageboard over there, just read the first stickied thread.

The rest is mostly non-sense.

Re: Marathon training 'the right way'

Intervals, tempos, Fartleks are not unique to CFE.

"Proper" marathon training has all these things.

To the OP. I would say let her do what she wants so she doesn't resent you for wanting her...

Re: A little dismayed...

Getting injured and writing it off as you needing to harden up is never okay in any sport or gym.

It takes a grand to get certified, not intelligence on how to actually coach. Find a place and...

Re: I'm interested in your Games predictions

Rich loses if the games are light and long. I was only half joking about him repeating every year until he gets bored or hurt. Records are meant to be broken and people will eventually take things...

Re: I'm interested in your Games predictions

This is hard to argue with. I say Clever and salo don't make the podium. Maybe Ben Smith. Perhaps Bailey will finally put it all together.

Froning Repeats for the next 5 years or until he gets...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

Actually time is what I'm getting at. Funny you mention Mis-quoting. She runs a 50. Its not rocket science and doesnt need to be made complex. I was the first person to rcommend a HRM in this thread....

Bolded responses in you're quote.

Man...I don't even know what to say now. Are you the same guy that was advocating CFE earlier? Is that the reading I need to do? Are we posting on the same...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

I'm suggesting it matters not how far she runs.

You make an excellent point though...how did snell, Coe etc get by without fancy GPS/HRM? They obviously missed out on their running potential...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

People have been running elite times without HRM's for a very long time...she'll be fine without one. She needs to drop 10 min on a 10k. No reason for her to be doing a bunch lung busting intervals...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

Cool, so the quick and dirty off of this http://www.runworks.com/calculator.html is:

"Easy" Runs: 2:26.6/400 or 6:06.5/Km
Marathon pace: 2:10.7 and 5:26.8
Tempos: 2:02.3 and 5:05.6
Intervals...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

No need for intervals yet. Just Strong and Less Strong Aerobic work.

And when you add them I would probably only do 2 hard workouts per week and keep them around goal pace work.

Stay in the...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

Do you have a specific race you want to run? If not, cut a huge section off for base building. Have your base consist of nothing but strong aerobic running. Once your body has adapted to that and you...

Re: Crossfit and... Running

Ha. With running most people around here seem to ere on the side of...not doing it. Unless its reps in a WOD.

We shall see what she responds with to the goals question.

Re: Develop a CF Program - How to program strength and WODs?

Redundant cross posts are redundant cross posts.

And apparently your blog (or the page you linked) don't exist anymore.

Re: Crossfit and... Running

I was asking because, if you want to be good at running then CFE is not the way to go. It's like a sharpening/peaking phase that never ends. If you want to sort of do both then I guess any combo of...
