Re: Glute/hip pain that nobody has been able to diagnose or really help with

I appreciate you getting back to me. I understand these are all somewhat shots in the dark, but for all the ones you listed, would I experience pain on a day to day? For instance I can bend down and...

Glute/hip pain that nobody has been able to diagnose or really help with

I've seen 4 different professionals ranging from MD, PT and chiro for the same injury and gotten no actual answers, not even good guesses. Just blank stares. This hip injury can't be that mysterious!...

Re: OH work w/shoulder mobility issues

You cut the OH work becauase they are incapable of doing it properly - it isn't that complicated. Meanwhile you get your client into a PT office or on a rehab program because they either a) didn't...

Re: LSUS 12-Week Stregth Program

Just wondering what the logic is of doing 90% of 90% of 100%. Is it just a numeric OCD thing?

Elevated hip leading to back pain

Hey all. So I was wondering if anyone has experience with treating an elevated hip. I am seeing a chiro and my right hip sits higher than my left, not sure what from but has been like that for a very...

Increase weighted pull ups

Anyone know of a program or system to increase weighted pull up strength? I know about Armstrong for bodyweight but I'm looking to add lbs.
Thanks

uneven legs

Hey guys so I saw a chiro a long time ago and she told me my right leg is maybe a quarter of an inch longer (could be more or less, I forget exactly since it was about 3 years ago) than my left. I...

Re: Texas Method experiances

For anyone else who read practical programming - have you tried adding the dynamic work?

Re: Texas Method experiances

I'll second the deadlifts becoming rough. It's tough to nut up and do heavy deads after the squats and upper body lift. What works for me is reminding myself the deadlifts take no more than 15...

A good tip though is to NOT increase weight on Volume Day every time. Intensity Day is where you make your money so as long as you...

Re: Is it more important to avoid "butt wink" or squat deep?

Man, I don't know nearly as much as everyone else here claims to know, but I've got a feeling that that curvature in your low back at the very bottom of the squat can't be good...

Also, are you...

Re: Squat fail

It's not a race you don't need to go so quickly between reps. You could have had that last one if you waited another 5 seconds. For some of my 5 rep sets I'm under the bar for 45 seconds

Re: Confused About Catabolism

Got it. Thank you all very much. Anything else you think I should know RE anabolism/catabolism that maybe needs some myth-busting?

Re: Confused About Catabolism

Ok that makes a lot more sense. So would there be merit in the advice I used to read about needing to eat quickly after waking up because the body is in a catabolic state?

Confused About Catabolism

In my microbio class I'm learning that catabolism is the breakdown of large molecules (like a protein) into smaller, simpler ones (ie protein --> amino acids) with a release of energy. I remember...

Re: Pulled groin

Interesting. I think I have OK glute activation...never really noticed it. I went into the workout super sore in the adductors from a 40/50 rep leg lever/4-ct flutterkick circuit done earlier in the...

Re: What is your #1 strength training question?

Oh ok. It essentially is: for 10 days, 3x25 reps increasing by 10lbs each day. Then for a week drop to sets of 15 and increasing weight a bit more liberally, then 5's until back to normal.

Edit: for...

Hey guys and gals so I pulled my right groin coming out of the hole on one of my last reps in a 5x5 back squat workout. I immediately felt it so it wasn't something I noticed the next morning. This...

Good lift man. If that was my PR video, I definitely wouldn't be fretting about the form displayed. Keep it up :highfive:

Re: Hip pops out on Back Squat?

I wonder if really focusing on hip drive on that last rep would have helped. Gotta really have a good mind-body connection with your hips. Also you're starting the lift by bending your knees first...
