Re: Post Your Favorite Olympic Lifting Videos

I think this video from the Iron Maven is very very (very) cool:

Apart from slow motion goodness and bar path "dartfishing" - she "overlays"...

Re: Square App and ZenPlanner/MBO

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, forgot to subscribe to this thread.

Well, we are a pretty small gym, so we are just using a spreadsheet to track everything. We do keep a "paper log" handy...

Re: anyone use an Android app instead of notebook?

The good news is that you can enter custom wods, but they don't track the same way as the benchmarks (as in listed with most recent time beneath it).

I will be requesting the same feature...

Re: anyone use an Android app instead of notebook?

I went through a bunch of fitness tracking apps and ended up with the CrossFit PR one you linked above. I like it a lot.

It is easy to use and it makes it easy to see/manage PRs and benchmark wods....

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I missed the start and whatnot of the affiliate competition, and my limited patience and ability to search for it turned up moot - how heavy are those sandbags? 200#ers?

Re: Live Stream

Spotty, jumpy and time-outy for me here in Connecticut :(

Hopefully this is just a symptom of being at a remote location?

Re: Square App and ZenPlanner/MBO

We started using square recently, it is pretty slicky. IMHO 2.75% is not too bad - especially since it is free to start and they send you the swiper free.

In my experiences, the only way I ever...

Re: Alternative to Chalk.

Not sure about that stuff, but I have a tube of this stuff:

Re: Deadlift grip

Double overhand with hook here.

I am not sure if it is BS or not, but some say mixed grip will cause your traps to develop differently/unbalanced? I suppose you can alternate hands, but from...

Re: Weight Vest Question

I don't have a lot of experience with many different vests, but I have a MIR vest and the thing is legit. It is very well built and I have no doubt it will last me a long time. I have the MIR Pro...

Re: Music

We are all over the place at our box - I like punk and hardcore, others like the death metal, others straight up pop... Basically we thought we couldn't please them all, but this, for some reason,...

Re: Deadlift socks

+1 for soccer socks.

I have a pair of "deadlift" socks that have some extra "padding" on the shins, but I think they are just ski socks.

These: ...

Re: Personal Record Board Construction

Perfect, thanks! I will make a run to Staples today and look for that tape. I have a few sharpies laying about, I will have to play around with those as well.

Thanks again.

Personal Record Board Construction

Searched around but I could not quite find "construction" tips on making a members PR board.

More specifically/to be clear - I want to take a whiteboard (or 2) and "apply" some sort of permanent...

Re: 29r Mountain Bikes

I am a little rusty in the bikes department, and never really looked into 29ers, but a few thoughts off the top of head are:

1) I believe the redline is a steel frame - which will last you longer...

Re: Nutrition Seminar/w Jeremy Mullins MS-RD, HQStaff - Mid-Atlantic Area

We had Jeremy up to our box in CT earlier this year to do one of these and it was great! Everyone really enjoyed it (and learned a ton).

I highly recommend. :)

Re: Vimeo VS YouTube

I always felt the video quality on vimeo was better than youtubes.

Plus Vimeo is also not as judicious in killing the audio in uploaded videos if you happen to use a copyrighted song :p
