Re: Reading while Working Out
The only reading I would consider tolerable in the gym would be in between sets if you are lifting REALLY heavy limit sets and you need 7-8 minutes for recovery time.
I think Coach Rip has...

Just a thought on recruiting... A lot of the services are experiencing a serious case of "Bad Economy=Tons of Recruits" in conjunction with a terribly effective retention/bonus program. Many units...

I'm going to be there 1 August... I hope someone opens a box between now and then. I will not have access to the UVA gyms (my fiancee will) and I'm willing to pay for the fitness level that can be...

Re: Squat/Press/Deadlift Form Check
The biggest thing I noticed was the bar path.... it DEFINITELY drifts forward and you put the weight on your toes... Lose the squishy running shoes and your form will improve a thousand fold. ...

Re: Core during back squat
yeah, if you're going to squat beltless, the VM is doubly important. A belt functions by helping stabilize core muscles and gives you "felt" cues to keep your core tight. If you're not using a belt...

Re: Core during back squat
Breathing is incredibly important. Learn the VM and use it. Fix your form and wear a belt. I would advise against dropping the weight too much--going lighter will not necessarily fix your form.

Re: Back Squat Form Check Please ....

Re: Core during back squat
do you wear a belt? When I'm squatting anywhere near 300 pounds I put the belt on. It helps for positional feedback and it gives you something to push out against with your back and abs, thereby...

Re: New WOD for Marines...scale question
I did something similar to this once in my basement a long time ago... just sorta trying out crossfit methodology. I did 10 rds- 10 135 DL and 10 PU. What a smoker. Great WOD. I almost honked.

Re: Hook grip, why use it?
It seems that people are missing the point... I don't know if it's been said already, but if you consistently do a hook on things like DLs and Pull ups, aren't you cheating yourself out of some grip...

Re: Easing into SS?
There are other form related issues that could be resuting in hip flexor pain-- too wide a stance is one of those things. Admittedly I didn't look at the digital coaching thing.
What works for...
