Re: I live in a Condo. Equipment ideas?

I will repeat what he said - rings. No space (almost), strength, flexibility and yep, pullups are in there too. Past that an apartment is rough to work in; get you a KB (or two), jump rope, and...

Does anyone have experience with WWOOF?

I am looking into this as an "experience" and was hoping someone here has some experience with it.

Re: Inov 8 F-light 195 vs. New Balance MT 101

I completely forgot about that, thanks for the reminder. FYI Merrell/Vibram has also released 3 models of "barefoot" shoes.

Inov 8 F-light 195 vs. New Balance MT 101

I am looking to get a new pair of shoes for all-around workout use. I cannot decide between these two and was hoping someone could offer input. I know the Inovs are preferred here but I really do...

(Book) Nutrition and Physical Degeneration - Weston Price

I picked up a copy of this book, which seems to be the original, modern paleo-style research (early/mid 1900's) but takes a much more scientific approach than most nutrition books. I was wondering...

Re: Good Minimalist Shoe?

This is another great source for minimalist footwear and updated several times a week.

Re: Minimalist shoe questions

I would say not so much that toe, but my toes in general. The rule of thumb is to fit to your toes, not your foot. It would definitely be worth that quick drive to know for sure.

Re: Minimalist shoe questions

I too have a longer 2nd toe (more than 1/6th") and have no problems wearing VFF's.

Thanks for posting that, I have killed an hour looking through it and I really excited about the upcoming Merrill Toughglove shoes.

Re: Minimalist dress shoe?

Not an odd question, at least to me as this is something I have struggled to find, spending my days in a cube and hating dress shoes with raised heels. I have come across a few that suite the...

Re: Minimalist trail shoes?

To add another vote to what other's have said, the most minimalist are VFF KSO or Trek's, after that the Inov's (due to weight/flexibility).

"Slim" Chuck's

Has anyone tried the 'slim' chucks with the thinner sole? My main complaint about my chucks is that they are too heavy (albeit this is compared to VFF's/Inovs). With that, the slim version looks...

Re: Started using a belt for squats and deads

To me, a belt like so much else, is by the user. I used one years and years back, every heavy leg lift; but when I started CF I dropped the belt and the few times I have used one since, it seems to...

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

Just furthering what Ted said: doing 5x5 linear of squats would more than likely wipe you so that the following lifts are sub-par.

I finished up true SS a month ago and thusfar I am liking this...

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

Some great stuff in there. Taking of the ease of the template, don't forget about a double tabata set as an ***-kicking 8 min killer:

DL / Burpees or Pullups
Thruster / SDHP
etc, etc, etc...

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

I have both and I suppose I will alternate with weighted bar on Tuesday (really crank on the poundage - went 3x5 +70# today) and use rings later in the week.

There is just something about weighted...

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

This is my first week on the program (thanks for showing me this James) and I have two questions on the dips, the 2nd specifically for Tuesday (per the PDF).

- Bar or rings as standard?

- On...

Cheap Shoe Sale

I hate to post links to shopping material, but this sale seems too good to not share.

6pm is running a pretty descent sale at the moment on several CF friendly models:

$24 Samba's...

Re: men and rowing [serious question]

Never had the that happen but I did have to get briefs recently to keep the goods safe & I have about decided they will be standard issue gear for me.

Re: Best Crossfit hoes????

Correct. The both incorporate a rubber vulcanized sole which is the main part that makes chucks so good for WOD's.

Re: Crossfit Shoes

I am looking into possibly getting a pair of these as I want to vary my workout shoes from just VFF's, and I am going to start learning to run trace; does anyone else have input on the Tiger...
