Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Sorry I have not been doing a good job keeping up with the log. Workouts continue, though they may be disorganized. I have ended up in sunny Florida, and I'm loving it.

The biggest thing for...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Right now I don't really feel like I'm in the land of the living.
I don't even want to talk about what we did for "working out" today. I think in would probably qualify for a sadistic version of...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Just did a disorganized run today with some push ups thrown in. More to come later on today.

Yesterday I did a more organized WOD.

Warmup:

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Just an update, I didn't die and I didn't stop working out. Moving and working out at work has taken over my WODS this week.

Today, I did set 4X100m sprints, 2X200m, 1X400m.
Then I started...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

This morning I tried to get in the main page WOD, but got interrupted when I had to help the maintenance guy un-plug our toilet drain...

Warm up:

18 single unders--my rope broke!
20 squats

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Okay fine! I guess I can look back on it whenever I have a bad day to make myself feel better.

Dead hang Pull ups: 20
Sit ups: 100
push ups: 70
3 mile run: 25:05
1500m swim: 29:27

There, I...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Good gosh, packing is ridiculous and not even a little bit fun.

Didn't get a WOD in yesterday, just did a bunch of different practical things.

Did a practice PT test today, which included:

Re: Matt's CF Experiment

Nice work running the dogs. Keeps them healthy. I usually give up after about 3/4 of a mile when I try to run my dog. She's very fast, but not very focused.

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Hit the pool up this morning. Actually had a buddy today, so we worked on some underwater stuff. That was a real smoker, but also a lot of fun. Combining cals with short under and overs starts to...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

I thought about that afterwards. Doing the 300 WOD and sprinting was putting a good beating on my legs. And yes, I am young, but the military has taught me to love anti-inflamatories. I was eating...

Re: Matt's CF Experiment

Swimming+burpees...interesting.
Any kind of WOD that involves cals and swimming is guaranteed to bring the pain. Nice work :).

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Good luck with the dumpster diving. Also, craigslist might have something in the free section. Or, if you are near a tractor company, you could ask if they had any they are trying to get rid of.

Re: Pull-Ups as listed in WOD

I disagree somewhat. Once you are good enough at deadhang pull ups, you can keep up a pretty good pace and maintain the metabolic aspect. The fact that you are using far fewer muscles for the...

Re: Resource List for lots of WODS?

Aside from the main page archive, it's pretty easy to compile a lot of WODs by visiting the affiliate pages. You can also go back quite far in the WODs from www.navyseals.com (W/FS).

And if you...

Re: What to fill a heavy bag with

I completely agree with this statement. Go for a softer punching bag so you can use it for longer periods of time and not hurt yourself. If you have been trained on iron hand techniques, you probably...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

I got a tire! I saw it in this dumpster type thing and asked the owner if I could have it. I am 100% sure that he thought I was crazy, but he let me have it for free. I pushed the sucker into the...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

No time to mow the yard yesterday. I hate the fact that the rest of the base works 9-5, M-F. It makes it really difficult for those on shiftwork to get anything done.

That is my quota of *****ing...

Re: Matt's Skinny Guy Workout Log

I love/hate any workout that combines running, KB swings, and Pull ups. Any time I feel in the mood for some pain I go out and do a variation of Helen or Eva. It's good to do stuff that you hate...

Re: new workouts

This is one of the greatest ideas I have ever seen! I need to get a rope and find a flat parking lot. I can only imagine the stares you would get from people .

Re: perfect plyobox: my couch?

I am also using a weight bench right now (21 inches). It doesn't wobble too badly, but I can't go really fast either. A real plyo box, even homemade, is really the safest and most suitable. But like...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Stayed up late yesterday and slept in, didn't have time to get a workout in before work tonight.

Greasing the groove tonight every 30 min with 5KTE, 5pull ups, 10 push ups.
Heavy lifts and...

Re: The Story of Matt the Rat

Matt,

I googled it, and it looks like just what I need. I'll be getting some of that soon. Thanks for the tip!
