Re: Glute Medius pain for months...help, please.

There's definitely no hip popping, but I'll give it a shot. My first PT suggested SI, but I didn't see any change after a couple of weeks of exercises.

Re: Glute Medius pain for months...help, please.

I have an appt with a PT who specializes in athletics/weightlifting. Unfortunately, they are booked solid for another two weeks (three weeks from when I made the appt).

Is there anything I can do...

Glute Medius pain for months...help, please.

I like to be specific for diagnostic purposes, so please bear with me…6 months ago, I was doing a heavy (as in 2xBW) back squat for a Total. I had used low bar heels outside shoulders stance for...

Re: CrossFit Dating

Ropey, tight muscles caused by years of poor mobility. Also going to retool squat for olympic A2A instead of powerlifting style. Right now, it's about 2hrs of mobility a day and maybe one strength...

Re: CrossFit Dating

Haha, I appreciate it. I definitely won't be putting those numbers up again for a while, though.

Re: CrossFit Dating

Just a preference. By "what I want, when I want", I meant that I program for myself, which is not necessarily better or worse than programming of an affiliate, and I don't want to fight for time and...

Re: CrossFit Dating

That's me. I haven't been active on the site lately while finally, after 4 years, addressing some flexibility asymmetry and trigger points. I really wish mobility was hammered from the get-go for...

Re: CrossFit Dating

Interesting thread...Anybody near Columbia, SC? I would go to the gyms in town but I simply can't afford it at the moment (grad school).

Re: Chest (sternum?) pain from dips and support.

This sounds similar to my problem. I can pinpoint the moment that the pain started. I was doing a kipping bar muscle up. I made it about 80% over the bar and pressed out the rest. I immediately...

Re: Pain in left side of left foot

I have experienced something similar over the past 1.5 weeks. I did 2 mile walk with 85# of added weight. Stupid me did it in slippers since that's all I've really worn for the past six months...

Re: Weightlifting shoe guide?

I ordered some chuck taylors and adistars last night. The expense was a little hard to swallow, but I consider it a worthwhile investment.

...Plus, everybody needs a pair of chucks.

Thanks for the...

Weightlifting shoe guide?

I have been searching for a comprehensive guide for buying weightlifting shoes but can't seem to find something descriptive enough. I hate to ask for advice for my specific preferences, but there...

Crossfit Footballing USC Students in Columbia, SC

I'm looking for workout partners who meet the following criteria...

1) Workout at Strom or Blatt gyms, NOT the local CF gyms (been there...not able to commit the money).
2) Already do CF Football...

Re: Chills during WOD?

I think it was more appropriate for the lower volume, heavier metcons and strength that I was doing before. We'll see if I can iron it out before giving up on it.

Re: Chills during WOD?

Alright. I'll try mixing in some protein beforehand.

Re: Chills during WOD?

No, I doubt it's dehydration. I get plenty of water and I'm not really sweating any more than I did working out solo.

Thanks.

Re: Chills during WOD?

That may explain what's happening. I didn't want to mention that I'm ketogenic until I heard some ideas. I eat a sweet potato or something similar about an hour before a workout and that's most of...

Chills during WOD?

I just joined a box after having done mainsite for a year, then CF Football for a year. The push is, of course, more than it was when I was going solo, which leads me to my question.

The last...

Re: Paleo Diet Check

I used a food processor (close enough, right?). If I had tried to mash it with a fork, it never would have broken up. It just makes things go faster. I use it for the onions, too. Avocado,...

Re: Paleo Diet Check

Yeah, I understand why CFFB advocated paleo+dairy. It was necessary for the calories. I was just hoping to replace the dairy part with more paleo...I'm stubborn that way, lol.

As far as the...

Yeah, coconut oil doesn't work for me. Bought some from Tropical Traditions a while ago and rarely use it now.

This all makes me think...is strict Paleo...

Re: Paleo Diet Check

"Nuts"? In what way? I'd take a tasteless, magic serum all day every day in place of food if it would provide optimal health and performance. I realize that olive oil isn't a magic serum, but is...

Re: Paleo Diet Check

I inserted more info into the first post, including some of my stats and the fact that I get plenty of saturated fat from the meats. I exclude nuts for now, in part, to keep things simple. I ate...
