Re: What would you do?
My own personal opinion is that contracts for gym memberships are counter-productive.
You can't promise that you will also have good coaches (as defined by the client), that the client will get...

Re: USAW or CrossFit Weightlifting Course
I took both courses, found them to be essentially the same. There's a slight difference in some of the terminology and the emphasis placed on each phase of the lift, but Coach Bergener used to teach...

Re: Zone vs Renaissance Diet
This is not true at all. That is one of the easiest general ways to apply the Zone diet. An even more general way Dr. Sears mentions is the pick a piece of meat that is no bigger than the palm of...

Re: Zone diet question
Phillip, the Zone diet focuses on maintaining macro-nutrients in sufficient quantities to support one's lean body mass (muscle+bones+organs, not fat). It is the only diet I know of that specifically...

Re: Domain Name for Sale = IP Theft?
Do my eyes deceive me or did you list a (pending) qualification for which you haven't attended the seminar yet?
If that's the case, I need to update my signature/qualification information...

Scott, do you have a random content generator that spits out nonsensical comments and threads in an effort to promote your consulting business?

Re: Reducing Member Churn Rates
I personally detest contracts both as a coach and a client. Boxes change clients, schedules, or, even worse, they stay the same despite the changing/advancing needs of their clients. Requiring (or...

FYI, It's illegal for non-gov to make any type of copy (including scanning) military ID. We military are also not allowed to provide a copy to any non-gov. There are plenty of ways to prove...

Re: Level 1 Certification Course Staff
Whoa, Sean, major typo on my part. I meant that one has to be on the Level 1 staff in order to judge at the Games (not Regionals). If being on the Level 1 staff is a prereq for judging, then...

Re: Level 1 Certification Course Staff
I know plenty of Level 1 staff who haven't been to regionals. I also know many who don't have their CSCS. Finally, you have to already be on the level 1 staff in order to judge at regionals...so...

Re: Coaches - Working Out
Asking coaches to work out in the classes is a great idea but you can't charge coaches for something you are requiring them to participate in. Not only is it unfair, it seems like it would make one...

Re: Veterens Affairs (VA)
Sorry man, can't happen. The VA doesn't pay for courses like this, only the certificate test. CrossFit doesn't pay separately for the certificate test so there is no way for you to get reimbursed...

Re: USAW Cert - now what?
Kristian,
I wouldn't advertise this too much. Here are CrossFit's training requirements:
This sounds to me like non-L1 coaches are allowed to assist with a class but not lead it on their own. ...
