Re: Overtensing in the handstand

Aushion to the rescue! Thanks!

Overtensing in the handstand

I know we supposed to stay rigid and tight when upside down. However,
I noticed whenever I squeeze my glutes hard, I tend to fall down. Is it possible that I"m over tensing?

Thanks:rofl:

Best "ah" moments in the bar muscle up

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

Congrats! Try to get the rings closer together more. A good cue to to make them "cling" so you can hear them that way you know the rings are close.

The elbows sore are always something you need to...

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

Some where in between horizontal and vertical. For the rings, I'm more horizontal, but for the BMU, I'm more vertical.

Getting the bar to sternum is good enough. Weather it's belly button or...

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

Just saw your "kipping" version. Use the same advice as above and really focus on slamming your body down. Most beginners think a muscle up is about getting over the rings, but it's more about going...

Re: Working towards a strict muscle up...

You are getting close! Don't quit! You'll get there really soon.

My thoughts:
1. Try to get more torque from your shoulders by twisting the rings out. By doing this, you'll activate your shoulders...

Activating shoulder in HSPU

Would torquing my hands help activate my shoulders? Or should I try to pushing my elbows out?
