Re: Cooking and Digestibility
I should note before this snowballs into a GOMAD thread that I'm not attempting to get huge. I'm more interested in reducing the amount of effort needed to get my daily calories.

I was listening to Mat Lalonde talk on the Paleo Summit (WFS) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4Ll_atbQcLQ), where he discusses some fallacies in the paleo diet and why he eats...

Re: How to gain weight healthy?
I've attempted gaining weight on paleo with a variety of methods over the course of two years. Only one has worked: add something non-paleo to your diet.
For me that has been milk or potatoes. ...

Re: Why do you CrossFit
My goals became more specific and I realized I wasn't going to achieve them with crossfit. I'm more interested in bodyweight strength training and doing crossfit 3x per week didn't leave enough in...

Re: Why do you CrossFit
I was enticed by their marketing campaign to get stronger, leaner, etc, and I didn't know enough on my own to program my own workouts.
I don't crossfit anymore because I learned enough to go off on...

Re: Help with vegetables
Here's one of my favorites, at least during winter months. It's cheap and the flavor is easily varied.
- Get some greens. Collard, kale, turnip, etc.
- Chop an onion and throw in in a medium heat...

Re: Two meals a day
I did this for a while. One meal at about 3000 calories and a second at about 1500. The problem I had with it is there's little room for error. Say I get interrupted in the middle of my giant meal...

A quote from that link on athletes that did ice bath compared to those that didn't.

Re: Fibre on a Paleo diet
Milk makes me constipated. It seems to be an uncommon problem and I'm told it's because of the calcium content. Magnesium does fix the problem, but that's a dangerous game to play if you forgot how...

Re: Paleo BM issues/ fiber
My exact same experience. Ate 5000+ calories every day for about three weeks and lost two pounds. Decided to end the experiment there.

Re: Fish Oil Quality v. Price
Just to give an opposite opinion, that fish oil is absolutely nauseating to me. I bought a bunch of it because it was cheap and ended up throwing most of it away. I tried mixing it with orange...

Re: How strict do I need to be
In my opinion there are two ways to go about figuring this out for yourself.
1. Shoot for "good enough" and if you're happy with the results, then there you go.
2. Go for a 100% clean diet for a...

Re: Zone : mayonnaise help
The conversion for blocks is:
1 block fat = 3g fat*
1 block carbs = 9g carbs
1 block protein = 7g protein
*There is one confusing part where 1 block of fat may equal 1.5g of fat. The idea being...

Re: Zone : mayonnaise help
The 60% fat vs. 20% fat that is on packaging or order of ingredients doesn't matter. Look for where the calories (energy) and fat/protein/carbs are listed. It will say something like:
serving size...
