I did the 3/1 one for the first two years... I've switched to a 3/1 - 3/2 schedlule now, throwing in an extra rest day every other cycle. Since doing that I've been able to clear up nagging elbow...

I tape part of mine, and leave part bare. Let's me choose what I want to work with by shifting location on the bar. I find on cold days that the tape works better, on warm I prefer the bare metal.

The idea is to do as much as you can, as fresh as you can. Don't take it to failure, but don't let yourself off easy, either....

I draped mine over a length of PVC pipe as I cut it with a utility knife. That forced the cut open as gravity pulled on the edges, which in turn made the cutting very easy.
