Re: Long distance rucksack marches (how to train?)

There is a guide for this course that maps out a very good ruck marching plan.

The problem that I ran into in my previous training is that I didn't really train off road and I didn't really train...

Re: Lawsuit brought against CF affiliate

I hear you Denise. But unfortunately many Americans do not believe in bad luck (or personal responsabilty for that matter). This is the price we pay for having a peaceful means of conflict...

Re: I thought I was thin.. but..

Strangely enough, yes my waist is smaller. However, my buttocks have gotten bigger. . . so I am effectively wearing the same size pants/shorts just to get it over my butt, but now the waist is...

Re: Gary Taubes lecture online

Re: Affliction: Banned - Predictions

This was the best fight card that I have seen in a while.

Barnett = wow (only sad that people didn't get to see him grapple)

Arlovski = holy cow (Ben has a hard Cabbage-like head)

Fedor's...

Re: Navy Center for Professional Development: CrossFit is "contrary to Core Values"

Bottom line, Navy leadership wants metrics. Provide them and perhaps they will listen.

Coming right up Chad, or should I say "sir?"

Metrics has already been done by the Canadians (see...

Re: Batman Does CrossFit!

Its a good thing Batman hangs out mostly in the night, but wouldn't you think that this would drive up daytime crimes?

So, say Batman adjusts his sleep cycle to keep super villians and common cut...

Re: Navy Center for Professional Development: CrossFit is "contrary to Core Values"

Yeah, I hear you!

Nutrition and fitness in the Army can be like talking about religion and politics. You have to really work at breaking down convention if you are ever going to make...

Re: Body Comp. Scales-Reliable or total BS?

Yeah, they are BS. From what I understand they do either one of two things:
1-the work on an average ht, wt, formula (thats why the machine asks)
2-some supposedly run an electric current (fat has...

Re: how did you find crossfit?

I was in Iraq, hating life, board silly, and reading a short two sentence blurb in Outside magazine that had the crossfit main website listed.

Soon after I was reading the "What is Fitness?"...

Re: Navy Center for Professional Development: CrossFit is "contrary to Core Values"

Stuff like this reminds me when Heavy Metal and D&D was considered to be the cultish work of satan. In very short order it will be seen as a completely ignorant statement.

I've been talking to an...

Re: Flip Flops Bad for the Feet?

This study is a load of news filler, used to keep the news machine running.

I grew up in Hawaii, and believe me the whole state of Hawaii wears flip flops (we call them slippers) on a regular basis...
