Re: Setting up the bands

Hopefully Chris Mason can chime in here too.

You can double up the bands (if they're mini's) depending on how much is too much tension at the top. This also works if you are wrapping them around...

Re: Best way to "fit" power cleans into a 531 strength + crossfit wod program

IMO the cleans should go before squat if they are at least moderately heavy. The key to the power clean is speed, and after heavy squatting your CNS should be pretty worn out. You may not want to...

Re: An Effective, Yet Simple Strength and Conditioning Program

A few questions:

How effective would Pendlay Rows be in place of one day (not both) of the chin/pullup? And if so, would they go better on squat/press day (mon) or deadlift day (fri)? I developed...

Re: Linear Progression on the Press – When to go to 2.5 lb. jumps?

Actually, just realized that if its just the press that's stalled, I guess that wouldn't imply you need more calories. How are the rest of your lifts? Recovering ok?

Re: Linear Progression on the Press – When to go to 2.5 lb. jumps?

What is your height/weight? You're doing Paleo...so no Milk, Dairy, Protein supplement, or food binges?

One compromise might be increasing your calories (even if you thought it wasn't an option).

Re: Military says You’re Too Flabby For CrossFit

Ok, so we're done here, right?

If you have so many qualms with leadership, write a letter to your congressman. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.

As for Crossfit in the military, it seems...

Re: Military says You’re Too Flabby For CrossFit

Troy & Ian

The naming of WOD's and their non-PCness has nothing to do with the efficacy of the methodology.

Re: Military says You’re Too Flabby For CrossFit

Yes and No. Budgets are always tightly watched, but I can speak for the Air Force here. My base has a brand new (~2 yrs old) "Fitness Center" that costed $20+M. Some bases have crappy gyms, but...

Re: Military says You’re Too Flabby For CrossFit

I would tend to agree with this, in my limited experience with implementing Crossfit in military training (ROTC). I volunteered to run the PT sessions and thus created weekly plans for sessions held...

Re: Triceps

And how much did that plate weight? 225? If it was more like 10-25 then maybe you could have done it without flexion.

Re: Triceps

So what muscle group do you propose is responsible for moving the elbow joing and forearms into the lockout position in the image on right?

I feel like there's some circular logic going on here.
