Re: My day with Rick Scarpulla of Ultimate Advantage (Westside 4 Athletes)

Could you elaborate on some of the things he instructed you regarding you squat. I am kind of in the same boat as you, accept I'm taller and heavier. Also, how high was the box?

The foot plate is bolted on to the rest of the assembly so it wiggles a bit. I am going to fix...

Re: Refurbing a C-model C2, and things to look out for??

I bought a Model C that has been not well cared for at a gym. The folks at Concept 2 are awesome. Not sure what you would pay for shipping, but I bought: new foot pads, sprocket, shock cord, chain,...

Lower Back Pain (and underneath)

I will be as delicate as I can. I have some dull pain that goes from my lower back (right above my butt) and if I am sitting, wraps underneath to the bottom of my scrotum (this is me using technical...

Re: squat rack

I would stay on Craigslist everday. I found a York power rack for $160. I had a half rack with catches before but I like the full rack better. Since I lift alone it just seems safer.

Re: Box Front squat stupid?

I don't think Auturo was implying that anyone would necessarily use that an assistance to Oly lifting.

The point of the box would not be to sit back, but to break the strecth reflex one achieves...

Re: Box Front squat stupid?

I woudl think that they would be fine. The box does let you sit back, however I think one of main bebefits is to also stop the bounce advantage that you get from the stretch reflex in a normal...

Re: Rogue Dog Sled

I can't afford the Rogue sled but was thinking about building something similar out of 4x4s and 2" pipe. I guess I was wondering what is the real different between sled work and say prowler work. ...

Yukon Half Rack

I got a full rack so I am selling my Yukon Fitness half rack. I posted it on CL for $120. I would also be willing to trade for kettlebells (mine is homemade), plyoboxes (using a bench now:mad:),...

Got bar and bumpers off craigslist!

Bought a bar and bumpers off cl yesterday. All are York brand. Bumpers are 2x35s and 4x10s (kind with brass centers). He was asking $175 for the bar. Got everything for $230. I think I made out...

Re: Wasted years?

I was a globo person. Now I follow the CF methodology. Not the daily WODs but I mix and match them to fit into my schedule.

I've got to say that I don't really regret all those years in the gym....

Re: Concept 2 Model C - Issue

That's a great deal. I replaced a lot of parts on my C as well. You are replacing the two major parts that would cause that kind of noise.

Does the noise happen all the time, or just when you...

Re: Concept 2 Model C

I would offer $400 (while holding the cash in your hand) and see what happens. The monitor isn't that big a deal unless you really want the extras. I happened to find a model C that was in pieces...
