Re: Intense Back Pain During High Rep Deadlifts

I appreciate the input, but I may have overblown the description. I have had "intense" calf cramps that caused me to have to cut barefoot running sessions as well. Its a similar feeling to that....

Intense Back Pain During High Rep Deadlifts

Several years back I had a lower back injury, which I recovered from over the course of a year or so.

Things have been going smoothly for the last few years, but now I've hit a bump.

During...

Ok thanks for the tips on band calculation,

but when you were saying that the calculations are based on whatever specific exercise, are you supposed to do your dynamic effort using the same...

Re: Training "Ma dude"...

Max is also a minor. So at the end of the day if Minor A gets hurt, we just have a couple of minors being irresponsible.

I guess Ma dudes parents could sue, but I doubt much would come of it...

Re: For those that argue Westside is only for the advanced...

Here's another question.

Will pure Westside lead to gains in beginners as fast as SS?

Re: For those that argue Westside is only for the advanced...

Since someone went ahead and posted the EFS Westside Standard Template,

How do you feel about that as a launching point for starting westside chris?

I bought the Book of Methods but itll take me a...

Re: For those that argue Westside is only for the advanced...

I'm not "worried about" bands/boards/chains/etc.

I just want to make sure that if I drop $50 on a book, that I can do the program with the equipment I have available.

Re: For those that argue Westside is only for the advanced...

So in your opinion,

is Westside barbell feasible on a commercial gym environment? (no boards/bands/etc.)

Before I dump $50.00 into another book, I'd like to know if it's something I can really...

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

I also work out in a globo gym (all I have access too around here) with myself, books, and the internet as coaches.

So conjugate periodization is quite intimidating.

Do you think it's even...

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

I'm not particularly interested in ever squatting 1000lbs either,

But I would love something approaching a 1500 CFT

And getting to the point where 5/3/1 is actually an optimal program... because...

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

I have no doubts that westside will make me strong as all get out.

But are you saying the Starting Strength is not effective or less effective for a person at my strength levels?

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

Read the book. and I've already added close to 100lbs to my squat. And I've acknowledged that I need to eat and sleep better.

Thanks for the useful information though.

Re: Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

Alright thanks guys. I'm going to go ahead and do a reset.

Even in the clean and squat where I haven't stalled, my form has been suffering
(particularly on the clean)

I've flat out stalled on the...

Starting Strength: Big Reset, or Move on?

Hey guys,

I've been doing SS for about 3 months now.

I've made very decent gains in the squat, deadlift, and clean.

My press and bench (which were disproportionately strong to begin with)

Re: Hunter's Journal

Well last night was the worst workout I've had in my life.

Went 4/3/3 on the bench press, and only finished 3 reps on the deadlift (I couldn't pick it up after that).

Luckily I killed the squat,...
