Re: Another low bar squat check

I had the knee sliding too. I fixed a lot of it by really focusing on "setting them" and then sitting my butt down. Not until I started REALLY pushing my knees out hard did they stop sliding...

My experience was my strength levels dropped.
I went from a 235x5 Back Squat to 175x5, 160x5 Bench to 140x5, and 115x5 Press to 100x5 Press.

I did lose 30 pounds (of probably pure fat as I was at...

Re: need a new pair of shoes(not VFF, already have those)

ER Visit Last Night for Shin/Ankle

Howdy Everyone,
So last night at gymnastics I was working back tucks. I had a couple of tough landings but nothing out of the usual. About 15-20 minutes after finishing those, I was simply standing...

Re: Fish Oil & Soft Stool

Another thing to consider - Are you sick?

I noticed that when I was sick (just a common cold) - any amount of fish oil would simply pass on through.

Re: Can't Power Clean - Need a Sport-Specific Sub

Everything else made sense and the tip about the old oly bar toss is excellent - But what do you mean by squat style?

Re: Time Off for Pulled Muscle?

This is Rip's advice. I believe a pulled muscle falls under a "muscle belly injury." Right?

Re: Quick Squat Check - 210

My edit button dissapared on me?

Most importantly - Do you think my slightly perverted hybrid of a squat will get me stronger as quickly as a more traditional high or low bar squat?

Re: Quick Squat Check - 210

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but Rip's recommended "depth" is parallel. Parallel being - :censored: - I forgot the vocab I need to describe this. Parallel is pictured below.

Re: Can't Power Clean - Need a Sport-Specific Sub

I am at UW... You know someone?

Overhead press is not strong enough in my opinion and probably almost everyone elses. I'm working on it though. Currently, my work set is 100 for 5. Last year I was...

Re: Quick Squat Check - 210

Wow! That bar is definitely coming forward! That is a good catch!
Cutting my depth - Best way to do that is have someone yell at me? I'm not sure if I have the body awareness to do that yet?

That...

Re: Can't Power Clean - Need a Sport-Specific Sub

I'm not sure what my deal with thrusters were but my 1RM front squat is a little over 205 lbs (was...

Re: hip position on deadlift vs. power cleans

Well typically a novice trainee has no experience with either lift. Therefore, no movement patterns have been memorized.

Re: Diet Analysis

Sorry for the innaccurate Zone tag then. It was just downing the protein and upping the carbs put it kind of close to "Zone Prescriptions."
