Re: Tendonitis?

Ok, I uploaded a picture. Sorry, I don't know how to mark the pic... The pain is sharp and directly below the word patella. What I cannot target is if it's located in that white tendon connecting the...

Re: Tendonitis?

Hmm, well when you mentioned tightness in the quad, I do notice that there is a weird feeling as I squat...maybe like it's weaker. I honestly could just be imagining that, and its definitely not...

Re: Tendonitis?

Thanks Steven. Just curious, what makes you think it's not tendinitis? I don't quite feel any tightness in the other leg muscles (or more tight than they already always are...). But there is an...

Tendonitis?

Hi all,

Just wanted to gather your opinion on my latest "injury."

Basically, about 2 weeks ago, I was training in a Muay Thai style martial arts. I used to train in this style for years, but I...

Re: Flexibility

I'm not a big guy, but I do have a bigger build for a small guy (5'6, 170). I also had shoulder surgery. Didn't have time to read the links the others have posted so maybe this has been said before....

Re: Golf and CrossFit

It has been awhile since I've posted on these boards! Anyways, I'm a relatively newbie CrossFitter, but as a golfer (I was an instructor at the Golf Digest Schools) maybe I can give a basic answer....

Re: Prolotherapy for Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation?

Well guys, it's been about a month and a half since my 2 prolotherapy treatments, but I have some bad news to report :( :

I was doing pullups and on about my 4th set right when I grabbed onto the...

Re: Shoulder Dislocates: Stick -vs- Band?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I will use the bands in the future.

I wish I had a camera to get pictures up of my shoulder/back area. When doing the dislocates stretch, it almost feels as if it...

Re: Shoulder Dislocates: Stick -vs- Band?

But what if I am someone who suffers from shoulder instability AND has poor ROM. For example, with a stick/dowel, this stretch is very difficult for me, and I always feel like something might "give."...

Re: Shoulder Dislocates: Stick -vs- Band?

Garett: I too am curious about what you mean when you say "the back part" of shoulder dislocates. Do you mean that you should try to bring the stick/band as far back over your head without continuing...

Re: Exertion Headaches

The fact that it happens in us young guns definately doesn't surprise me. I know trying to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and an unhealthy diet is certainly hard for a guy in college. Caffeine is a major...

Here's an update on my second prolotherapy session which I received yesterday:

Same procedure as noted in my first prolo session, but this time my doctor injected in more areas around the AC Joint...

Re: Exertion Headache?

Thanks for the help Steve. I really appreciate all of your advice.

I think it's the diet and the water. I definately don't think it will hurt to go back to my normal diet/sleeping patterns.

I've...

Exertion Headache?

Hi Y'all,

Well if things couldn't get any wierder, now I think I have exertion headaches. I saw some good stuff on this from a search, but I was wondering if anybody had any newer...

Re: Avoiding shoulder injuries, and fixing them - What's the best course of action?

Aren't you supposed to elevate your shoulder blades when doing shoulder presses (the shove your shoulders to your ears technique) rather than pulling them back? And then depress/retract them when...

Re: Mysterious Shoulder Pain!

Hi Chris, could it possibly be a very partial shoulder subluxation? Subluxations are not always painful, and the clicking you hear sounds very similar to my instable right shoulder (see "shoulder...

Re: Mysterious Shoulder Pain!

Nope, the internal rotator stuff didn't bother me at all as you expected...

Cubans, military presses, a little bit with dumbell presses, and other like movements are the only exercises that bother...

Re: Mysterious Shoulder Pain!

By itself, abduction doesn't cause the pain; it's abduction with ext. rotation tha causes the pain...lots of it. Kind of hard to describe the exact location of my pain. I'm going to say it's anterior...

Re: Prolotherapy for Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation?

Okay, it's only been about a week now and my shoulder is feeling pretty darn good. Maybe even 50% better. Swelling has went down so I think that means that the true healing process is starting....

Re: Prolotherapy for Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation?

First Prolo session down! My shoulder's got a dull ache to it, but nothing unexpected and certainly nothing terrible. The actual shots don't hurt. You get some sort of anathestic popped into you, so...

Re: Kipping, dips and shoulder problems

Sorry to hear that, Nick. While CrossFit style exercises aren't new to me, the CrossFit Routine is. My shoulder sounds like yours. Does the clicking/grinding/poppin hurt? Mine doesn't, but it's still...
