Re: Hybrid Program Heavy Metcons

Anyone have ideas for WOD's incorporating atlas stones?

I think something like 30 ground to shoulder reps for time would be simple and effective, but that's all I got so far.

Re: Rogue "Games" Box

$160 from Rogue or roughly $30 plus a couple hours (tops) of work, to me it's a no brainer. Plus any Lowes, HD, or similar store will make the cuts for you so no issues with bad cuts. I happened to...

Re: I wish to find Large Tires for CF in LA

Peter, try to look for rubber recycling centers. They have piles of tires, and the big ones cost alot of $ for them to recycle so they will happily give them away.

Re: The start of my garage gym...

This gym is going to be awesome!

One question though man, why on earth would you have a 2 foot thick post tensioned slab poured? My father in law and I have poured slabs this size generally...

Re: Squat Form - Starting Strength

To be honest I feel more comfortable with the bar slightly higher. Of course that could be because I'm used to it there. Not saying it's right or wrong.

Re: Squat Form - Starting Strength

Thanks everyone for chiming in, I was at 210 today and have been getting the bar a little lower and focusing more on the squat depth.

Squat Form - Starting Strength

This is my 3rd set of 200x5. I began SS one month ago, started my squat at 135. Any critiques/advice would be appreciated, just trying to get better. Will have some power clean video soon as well. ...

Re: 2pood, Llc

Don't have an answer for you but $30 for a t shirt? This stuff is getting ridiculous.

Re: Starting Strength Works

I started at 135 on the squat a few weeks back and I'm going for 200x5 tomorrow, still no signs of stalling, although the sets are slowing down a bit.

Re: Making Stones

That's a good question and I haven't took the time to weigh the difference. I would imagine you lose a few pounds as the concrete dries over time.

My next project is to try a 10" ball inside a 14"...

Re: Making Stones

I added 50 lbs of weight (five 10# plates) to a 16" mold. The 16" mold weighs about 175# with just concrete so give or take, the stone I made weighs 225#. Probably not exact but it didn't really...

Re: Making Stones

For heavy inserts, I tied up a bunch of 10 pound plates and suspended them from a garage rafter right in the middle of the mold as I filled it with concrete.

Re: Making Stones

Fibers are not necessary at all, 5000 PSI concrete will hold up just fine. I have routinely dropped mine on 3/4" stall mats and I'm more worried about the floor underneath.

For inserts, go to a...

Re: Atlas Stones in Milwaukee/Chicago Area

If you have never used one it's certainly not a bad idea to play around with lighter stones at least to get a feel for it. Trying to lift even a 115 lb stone can be intimidating the first time! ...

Re: Atlas Stones in Milwaukee/Chicago Area
