Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

They are in heats according to the standings. So if you did well on the swim you got to go later in the OHS event. Jeff Evans and Neal Maddox did poorly on the swim and had to go earlier in the OHS...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

CF Total gets my vote, give that event to the athletes on wednesday as the surprise event. It should be the only thing they do that day. Set up platform for each lift and one huge warm up area. When...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Strategy for all future 2014 regionals athletes. On event 6, roll your barbell or flip your box past the ten reps you would like to skip.

I counted 40. The judge gave her the okay and she moved to wall balls.

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

YES. Lauren Brooks is STRONG. Taylar was an elite powerlifter and she is an outlier. On the other hand, Lauren is going to the games and I am pretty sure that there are no other games athletes that...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Also, in the SouthEast regionals top 5, there are two females that are CRAZY strong. According to the CF Games profiles, these are Taylar Stallings and Lauren Brooks numbers respectively:
Back Squat...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Any WOD over 5 minutes gets kind of boring to watch unless you personally know someone competing. I had my ipad on showing the live feed but only paid attention to the ending of long wods. Akinwale...

Re: 2014 Open surprises and who is underperforming?

I would have picked Akinwale to win 14.3. However, I am not surprised Sidell was one rep better than her. The girls side of competition will be much harder to predict this year.

Re: 14.3 tips and strageties. Jump or step?

I got 130 reps, had 15 seconds to change the weights to 315 and didn't attempt to change the plates. Just watched time run out which I now regret. I am satisfied with my score, had a plan and stuck...

Re: 2014 Open surprises and who is underperforming?

That was shocking, even more shocking are his Olympic lifting numbers. He snatches 300+ and his C&J is somewhere around 375-385.

Re: 2014 Open surprises and who is underperforming?

The open is just like reg season baseball, it really doesn't matter to games athletes. Regionals is basically the playoffs, you win or go home, games athletes are training for regionals during the...

Re: Clydesdales in the Open

Do I fall under Clydesdale category? 6'2" 210lbs? I know the cutoff is usually between 205-225lbs. I got 312 on 14.1, I was hoping for 300 so I am satisfied.

Re: Pretty glad I didn't sign up for the Open

OP, what was your score on 14.1? Did you attempt to do it so you have a baseline to look at when you finally get double unders. You WILL get double unders, it's just a matter of time. It took me 3-4...

Re: Klokov does Isabel

Imagine if Klokov made it to the games last year, (which its highly unlikely he would of even made it to regionals) if he had to swim and do naughty nancy? The Burden Run? Would he have enough gas...

Great Lakes Invitational

Danielle Sidell was DQ'd from the Open last year on 13.2 and wasn't able to go to regionals. This past weekend she DESTROYED the GLI Crossfit competition. It wasn't even close, she placed 2nd and...

Re: OC Throwdown Results

I remember seeing a video archived from their live feed that showed the top 40yd dash at 4.26 and the highest vertical was 36" not done by same person. I would like to see all the results also.
