Re: Bar Hurts Back/Shoulders When Squatting

Make sure you can get your shoulder in the right spot. I had some pain on one side and finally got some manipulation done on it. There was some impingement which meant I couldn't get it into quite...

Hi Sheila,

Thanks for posting your story. I think you should post your progress in the Testimonials section.

Re: Cleans are Killing Me! How Can I Improve?

I found the steps from Starting Strength to be excellent. Using those it is definitely possible to learn to power clean by yourself. Though coaching is obviously preferred if possible. Starting...

Re: Aussie ppl - where to get rubber mat?

Hi Vanessa

I looked into this a while ago but didn't make any headway. Could you let us all know what you discover?

Once place which I had a look at was...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

I think the shipping is the killer for bumpers. However I'd be very interested in a C2 rower. I feel that has a better payoff with a high dollar. Warranty wouldn't necessarily be honored as it is...

Was that imported direct from US? Or is Ballistix Fitness also in Oz. Quick google just showed US site.

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hi Michael,

I've had the cybermarket bumpers for about 18 months. No issues with them except that they are a bit loose on the bar so they rattle when dropped. At the time I got them there wasn't...

Hi Carter,
I got mine shipped from the states. (VS athletics). The only place I know if Oz is http://www.qwa.org/products/content.asp (wfs). There are a number of shoe threads on the boards - i...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hi Darren,

I got the Super Heavy Duty from Maxim. $346 shipped to Sydney. I'm no expert, but it seems to me to be a very good bar. Great spin, nice knurling. It is about 30mm thickness in the...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

They certainly look great. Its good to finally get some lists of this equipment!

I'm using an old power rack I got 2nd hand. So far so good, but the stands would use less room.

Jeremy

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Thanks Jason

I Just got the super heavy duty barbell from Maxim. For the price it seems like the best deal around. Thanks for the input. Wish I'd known about them when I got my bumpers.

Thanks...

I'm 99.9% sure they aren't. Just rubber coated steel plates.

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Yes that is what I was thinking of. The 1800x900 would need to be cut, but they'll do that for you for free. I think the closest plywood standard thickness is 9mm. You could either ignore the 1mm...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

10mm is probably fine.

What about rather than put carpet under the mats, just using a 10mm piece of ply for the middle section of your platform. Then the heights will match. You can use thicker...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Hi Sam,

Rubber for a lifting platform and gym is something i've put off due to the cost of rubber. I agree with Greg that this seems like a good price. If anyone finds a cheaper solution I'd like...

Re: Affiliates Posting CFSB WODS

Hi Jason,

What date did you start the first cycle? I wouldn't mind following it at home. I went back through your posts and it seemed like it started around 13th Feb.

Or is it better just to jump...

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

Thats cool,

Does it have a centre knurling?
And is the shaft size (where you hold it) 28mm? (i.e it is not too thick. Many seem to be 30mm+).

It seems like a good bar. Would you recommend...

Hi Allison,

I phoned them a month or so ago and they don't distribute any of these sorts of items here.

Their catalogue is on their website. (wfs) http://www.yorkfitness.com.au

Re: Recommended barbell in Australia

For the Maxim bars,

Is there centre knurling? Also, any reviews on how they spin and the shaft size? (Standard 28mm?)

Tried sending them an email but they haven't replied yet.

Thanks,
