From my experience imaging studies are overrated for this type of thing and tend to produce more confusion about the proper rehab path. The problem is that an MRI may pick up "abnormal" findings but...

Speaking as a Physical Therapist...I totally agree with the advice given. Assuming it truly is an injury of the hamstring muscle (and not radiating back/nerve pain) then GRADUAL progressive loading...
