Re: My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

About the only consistent thing is coffee in the morning. Bit of milk and that's it.

I've heard about the CFC. What a shame... :(

As for a pulmonologist, my mum is a registered nurse with...

Re: My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

"meaning.. its not a good workout unless i sweat thing" Funny, that's exactly what I said the other day but told myself to slow down and wait for my lungs to catch up. :D

Last time I was at the...

Re: My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

Switched over to Asmanex, 14 days now and it still isn't completely working. Tightness has subsided but now I'm wheezing consistantly. Tried training but even after a shot of albuterol I can't...

Re: My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

Went back and got a 2 week trial of Advair. Doc said it should work within 4-5 days. Problem is, the stuff is stupid expensive so I won't pay for it after this dosage. I'll probably remove all...

Re: My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

Wow thanks, that's some solid info I will bring up when I go in again. I'm going to ask for a different or another drug before anything else.

My exercise induced asthma, compare to yours

I've finally discovered my asthma at 24 years of age. I've been active all my life with sports or weightlifting but only after increasing my run distances, have I found the asthma. Interval...

Re: Thrusters - why do they hurt?!

It's probably one of the more intense full body workouts you can do. You're heart is doing its best to move blood through the entire body, including the two largest muscles groups. One minute the...

Re: Tips on Pull Up Bar

If you can replace the pipe, use black pipe instead of galvanized. Galvanized stuff isn't exactly healthy either, but that might just be if you're trying to weld it.

Re: Best MMA for police officers

The "anything it takes" mentality of Krav is its most important concept. If your life is in danger you have to fight like a pure animal. I certainly won't hesitate to bite, scratch, gouge, kick,...

Re: Best MMA for police officers

Yes. With a good instructor, like the one I had, he'll teach you all the advanced stuff from the get go. It's a killer workout too.

Re: Something for sore muscles?

I've been weight lifting for years and the only thing I've ever known to reduce soreness is rest. Even with a protein and vitamin rich diet, my recovery time was still the same as if I wasn't...

Re: Kipping Pullup. What Grip?

Over the bar. I can't do very many with my thumb underneath. I don't feel the thumb doing anything when it us underneath, but over, it's like having another three fingers holding my weight. The...

Re: Running and Crossfit

Understood. But another question, (I feel like I'm stealing this thread, sorry) would this training methodology increase capacity for a two hour workout session?

I used to do Krav Maga which...

Re: Martial Arts on top of crossfit?

If you cannot finish a WOD, don't pair it on the same day as Martial Arts. Down the line when you become better at everything, then test yourself on doing both. Do CF on your non MA days.

Re: Running and Crossfit

Why does CFE add workouts hours before or after regular Crossfit? I'm looking to add more running but what's wrong with adding some sprints or a few miles to the Crossfit WOD and stick with one...

Still suffering from Shin Splints

Back in early March I increased my running to about 3-4 times a week for 6-7 miles total for the week. In April, I switched over to POSE to try an alleviate the pain in my knees, shins, and feet. ...

Re: Uncontacted Amazon Tribe

It's amazing how such small groups of people can live completely isolated from the rest of the world. It's like a working time machine to what humans used to live like, and apparently still do.

Re: Crossfit Total... Low BW

Holy hell I'm impressed. I'm 5'9, 145 and did Rest Pause for a while, after years of isolation high rep exercises, and my max score would top out at 515! I did 8 weeks of RP and my deadlift...

Re: Qualifications for Enlistment in the Military - Questions

I never said it was easy, but easier. Half the battle at boot camp is the DI, right? Take that away and it's a completely different experience. I know the agencies don't all have the same...

Re: Differences in low rep sets?

I did Mike Metzner's Rest Pause theory for about 6 weeks and saw huge strength increases. It's basically a 1 rep max for 10 or so sets of things like deadlifts, squats, and cleans. However, it...
