Re: Ice bath/cold soak - to do, or not to do?
I don't know or tend to care about the science behind any of it - nothing about what I'm doing necessitates the need. I don't get paid to do any of this.
But here's my 2 cents nonetheless.
Sounds...

Re: Aerodyne and WODs
Add into your wod in lieu of running or rowing. Or just add it in. 30-60s max effort on rounds. Boom!
e.g.
6 rounds
3 reps heavy squat
60s max airdyne (don't even worry about 'score', just burn up...

Re: CrossFit Games Amateur division
True, but I could also wake up tomorrow morning, put an add in the paper to give lessons, and as soon as I receive money for doing so, I'm a pro. Same could be said if I enter a tournament as a...

Re: Sports specific golf exercises
Check out sites like mytpi.com for ideas. WFS
Like the throwers, you need a stable core and a flexible spine. Shoulder health and upper back health/mobility is huge. Being explosive never hurt. So...

Re: Why 135lbs / 95lbs
Which came first?
The weight or the ratio ?
I'm going for the weight (egg). As it had to exist before someone reverse engineered (evolved) the ratio (chicken).

Re: Domain Name for Sale = IP Theft?
Called cybersquatting.
According to whois this guy, David Slover, has owned the domain name since 2010 (and it expires in June 2015). He may be a defunct owner of an affiliate in Pittsburgh and is...

Re: CrossFit affiliate inside a large health club
Personally, I think OAC missed the boat when they toured me through their facility. The young lady showed me the pool, the basketball court, the machine room, the treadmill room, the yoga room, the...

Re: diy wooden squat rack with pull up bar
No idea about strength. I had built my own wooden power rack. It worked like a champ - had up to 365# in it for working sets and it didn't even budge. I could do pullups in it too (weight 100-110kg)....

Re: Floor issue
Can't tell you how many gyms I've visited and/or been a member of that do not have level floors. Never really an issue once you're aware.
They'll often have a dedicated lifting platform (8x8 or 6x8...

Re: Concept 2 Rower or Ski Erg
Nothing really scientific and much along the lines of what Jason just said. I just enjoy it more. (that's such a strange thing to say about the AD ... coz it sucks so bad).
It's more like sprinting...

Re: Concept 2 Rower or Ski Erg
I've had a c2 rower for 10+ years (before crossfit). If I were to do it all over again, knowing what I know now, I'd get an airdyne. But you already have one. So, I'd suggest the rower - it's an...

Re: The always slow class
Probably tons of options. Here's the options I can think of:
- Kill it
- Turn it into Open Gym
- Turn it into a specialty class. Maybe endurance, lifting, strength, mom's class, bring the kids,...

I was a MT10v1 user for a long time. Great shoes, wore out 2-3 pairs of them and I still have some I wear to work (right this minute even). I haven't liked the newer versions ... they messed with the...

Re: What do you think of these lifting shoes
I had them a few years ago in golf shoes. I was kind of meh. It's a novelty. There were times, much like what Mark said, where the adjustment wasn't there. I also found that sometimes they mechanism...

Re: Clean and Power Jerk
Since you have decent technique, you know more than me. Mine's just 'aight' :)
The obvious is practice.
But I've found EMOM to work well with Jerk (only 2-3 reps as I tend to practice sloppy when...

Re: Life Changes, Priorities and Program Design
I mirror Larry's sentiments. It simply looks like "more is more". I also don't see how this fits your "two days on, one day off, two days on, two days off" desire either.
Why not just continue to...
