Re: Local knockoffs.

My girlfriend lives in De. and I went with her to S.W.E.A.T is Seaford for a week. If any affiliate is losing members to this program, they should look at their own programming. The trainers, or...

Re: Blending Met-cons and GSLP, how to do it

I did 6mos of straight GSLP with some prolwer work, burpees and sprints on conditioning days. Fasted cardio (walks) and got WAY strong. I had topped out on SS and Texas Method but really excelled...

Re: Battling ropes -- yes or no?

I got a great deal on a pair and had done some work with them at a seminar. They work and are super hard. I did feel that after a while I grew acclimated to them and felt that they were less...

Re: Pulling from the High Schools

When I was in HS we had to work out as ateam. It was part of being on a team and you could go somewhere else, but you still needed to make team workouts. The local HS is still that way and not much...

Re: Chad Ochocinco entering the games?

I have seen low level NFL players working out at a college gym during training camps and the weight moved and volume of work was shocking. 315lb power cleans and 430lb squats for work sets. Guys that...

Re: Noise complaints

I trained and worked at an affiliate where this happened. There was nothing we could do right. If you got the complaint after warnings you are in a bit of a mess. We had warnings and dropped music...

Re: Crossfit Games

I stick with "CrossFit gets you fit as F%*&!". Elite? Fittest? I don't know but many folks doing CF get REALLY REALLY fit and that is good enough. I think a better (IMHO) test of absolute fitness...

Re: Weight lifting

5/3/1 and programs like this are for those looking to specialize in strength. Why not program strength using CF Template

I...

Re: Resting Heart Rate as an Indicator of Health

Healthy and fit are not the same. Looking at your numbers it is easy to see you are fast and pretty strong, but that HR is high. Good endurance athletes will have resting HR is the low to mid 50's....

Re: Smack Talk?!?

Not a family, a business. I have seen NASTY stuff go on between affiliates. I would be willing to bet that there is probably as much affiliate beef as friends

Re: How to have a successful CrossFit

This sums it all up im my opinion. The economy isn't great, so now more than ever people are looking for a bargain. If low prices equals low quality, it is cheap but not a bargain but many new people...

Re: Castro and the Zone

I think the original point is that CFHQ and especially Dave castro have gone out of their way in saying that Barry Sears 40/30/30 Zone ration is ideal for elite fitness and CF and if you watch most...

Re: What non-crossfit athletics makes one most prepared for crossfit?

I just finished college where I played D1 Lacrosse and I can tell you that IMHO field sports do not carry over well. I was a much better Lax player than I was a crossfitter for sure. The guys I saw...

Re: Drop-In Etiquette

Showing up at 3:00 for a 3:00 WOD is late (IF you're not early you're late!). 3:05 is TOO late IMHO. If I am going to visit I always drop an e-mail and introduce myself, and ASK when would be the...
