They usually think it is to protect their back from popping or going out of line. Most people religiously strap on a belt after their warmup sets of half squats...

squatted 270 for 5 monday, pulled 285 for 5 today, IRM press ~135 pressed 110x5 today, powercleaned 175 last week and benched 170 on monday.

yea, you're right. Way too many people following "Rippletoads" to take anything for granted.
