Re: 14.5 tips and strategies
I don't think 14.4 and 14.5 could be more opposite body types as far as what was beneficial. Taller/power athletes did well on 14.4, whereas midget/tiny engine guys will do well on 14.5 -- I was 212...

Re: Programming for regionals.
Having made regionals the last two years and hosted 250+ people every week for the open the past two years, I can tell you that the dudes who make it have two common themes:
1. They have an insane...

Re: mile run time?
When I was just starting in CF, my first Year I was running right around 5 minutes, two summers ago I squeeked sub 5 (4.57) at ~195lbs. To be more competitive in CF I am now 220lbs, and ran a 5:27...

Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread
Really? I thought event 6 looks like the easiest/most straight forward workout on the list. Should be quick and smooth. Team workout choices are interesting, no real 'long' team workout, I was...

Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread
At 6'3" with a 6'9" wingspan I doubt there are many regional athletes with a higher reach (97") - I did this today and I can guarantee you that no one will be doing what you consider a jumping...

Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread
Most true gym owners want A. to feel the accomplishment and pride of sending people that have been loyal, faithful and hard-working within the confines of their own doors. B. To send folks who...

Re: Regional Event 2
I would say average was around 7:20-7:40 - I rowed a 7.02 as a bigger guy, but that ~30 seconds was made up in about 10 pistols.

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread
No doubt, I think the 'older' guys have the experience, the strength and the ability to be up there. As Mikko said after last year, a lot of it comes down to who is healthiest going into that...

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread
Honestly, if you watch the "real" obstacle course it contains a double bar, up and over, and a ~20ft rope climb. These are two of the (if not the most) difficult parts of the course and they skipped...

Re: 2012 Open, Regional and Games thread
Froning is definitely on another level right now, however there are two people that really stuck out to me this weekend.
Scott Panchik and Marcus Hendren. Both were first timers to the Games,...

Re: Muscle Up Advice
Work ring dips as a strength piece. Do them lower than you would think, like as low as physically possible. If you can do 3-5 strict, with a 3 second controlled lower all the way to the bottom, in...

Re: Starting a Comp Team
Get an idea of the people you KNOW have shown interest in competing. In your weekly regimen begin scaling them up (weights, movements, reps, etc.) a few times a week.
Then on weekends we get...

Re: 2012 Opens vs. Regionals Athletes
It doesn't matter too much because the competitions are relative only to each other. That would only matter for Region to Region comparison -- but honestly, Yes...I think that would be a good idea. ...
