Re: A Typical Session

I don't think there is anything wrong with IF in general, but you may want to reassess your times if you are training at 8am and not getting any nutrition until 12 noon. just a thought. Also, it is...

Re: Critique my Nutrition and Routine

If its working and you're happy with your progress, then I'd say don't change anything. When I say it seems too much, I don't necessarily mean duration, but intensity. If you are going all out on...

Re: Critique my Nutrition and Routine

Re: Anyone else own a pair of WL shoes but no longer use them?

So in your guys' opinion, where would lifting straps fit in with things like rows, deads, etc.? It seems most CF'ers are against straps, so in your opinion(s), would they be considered a tool such as...

Re: Is this enough or should i push for more?

Up your game to what? What are your goals? "Pretty good shape" seems a bit relative and vague :)

Re: Too much $$$

Thanks for the new links. I haven't read them all in their entirety, but from what I've perused thus far, they seem pretty good. And, you are absolutely right that the first mention of diet was done...

Re: Too much $$$

Fair enough. I can respect differing opinions :)

As far as the second part, forum post or not, especially in the starting section, where people ask for advice, it'd be nice to have the advice all...

Re: Too much $$$

Please see bolded quote. You vey much did say that there is an "enormous health difference" between sedentary individuals and those who walk 20-30 minutes. You made no reference to any other factor,...

Re: Too much $$$

thanks for the links, very interesting reads all, and this answers a few things about exercise, but really the only link I give real credence to is the pubmed one, which is a peer reviewed article. I...

Re: Too much $$$

I'd be willing to bet that the "enormous health differences" are credited to more than walking 20-30 minutes a day, or that the "pretty small differences" between the walkers and sport trainers is...

Re: Lower-back and upper-glute pain

Do some research on SI Joint Dysfunction. Pain in lower back to the glute area could be indicative of SIJ issues, which often gets misdiagnosed as a slipped disc.. Just food for thought

Yeah probably not, considering the WOD was named after someone killed in action... hence the term: Hero WOD. Pointing at the heart has multiple connotations...

I'm in the process of applying to PT schools in Texas, finishing up my undergrad in Athletic Medicine. I don't know how different the programs are between the various states (I assume not too much...

Re: Frustrated with squats since starting fat loss

Being in a caloric deficit or "fat loss phase" does not automatically equate to losses in strength. Many powerlifters (and even gasp, bodybuilders) drop weight for a meet, while being able to, if not...

Re: Frustrated with squats since starting fat loss

It could be that doing squats the same day as a sort of refeed, or carb load, whatever you want to call it may be the problem, especially if your body is not used to higher carbs throughout the week....

Re: aesthetics-bias CrossFit

I know you didn't ask me, and of course Eric can speak for himself, but I find that going to failure often with this kind of volume would be too taxing on the CNS (as well as the body) and hinder...

Re: Another critique my diet thread

People have mentioned increasing fats.. Its the most calorically dense macro per gram, plus it has a low TEF, so it shouldn't make you feel overly full for an extended period of time. Without...
