Re: IBS, thinking of mixing up diet

I recommend consulting real doctors, not bloggers or trainers. Funny how Paleo is supposedly based on science yet the more boisterous cheerleaders of Paleo prefer anecdotes over actual science....

Re: vegetarian paleo?

What about eating meat (or Paleo if it applies) leads you to believe that it will afford you the luxury of going hard and fast into the dirt anymore than a vegetarian diet would?

Re: vegetarian paleo?

I knew from the title of the thread that things would end up this way. Those who love meat shouldn't feel the need to claim that a meat free diet is in some way not optimal/unhealthy anymore than a...

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

It would take a youtube video for me to believe you are really eating raw meat. But yeah, you are putting yourself at major risk of food poisoning and all kinds of bacterial problems.

Re: Can normal veggies (non-organic, with pesticides) be eaten raw?

Yes to all and aside from the fresh picked tomato(since it is local and fresh), I cannot tell any difference whatsoever.

This is subjective.

Real truth as in what? The USDA Pyramid doesn't...

Re: Can normal veggies (non-organic, with pesticides) be eaten raw?

Mike are you seriously this much of a conspiracy theorist? I respect your opinions in this thread but nearly every reply has either implied some kind of massive conspiracy or has contained anecdotal...

Re: Peanutbutter

Again, the problem is that one person who has some sort of intolerance to gluten/dairy/etc. gets it in their head that since a particular food(s) doesn't agree with them that everyone should avoid...

Re: Peanutbutter

My money says that those who scream the loudest about nutritional elitism don't eat the way they say they do in internet land. Like I told someone not long ago.... come here to get the rhetoric, go...

Re: Oatmeal?

True, doctors and scientists often come to different conclusions. My point was that I trust the conclusions of trained scientists over the bloggers that many here drool all over..... none of which...

Re: Steve Gibson's follow-up on Vitamin D

Did you get the shot or the nasal spray? If your received the shot then there is no way possible it is the cause of your illness, as it is a dead virus. "I got a flu shot and then got sick from it"...

Re: Whey Protein Isnt Evil..is It

What? Meat produces an insulin response. If you eat a steak, you will have a rise in insulin. It sure isn't only diary that does it. Even so, there's nothing wrong with an insulin response. Too many...

Re: vegan, - Amazing show of strengh and flexibliity.

lol that's ridiculous. Many top Pro/Olympic athletes have what most here and many in the non-extremist world would consider crappy diets and they are competing on a top level and in some cases...

Re: Paleo: the best diet bar none.

The double standards around here are astounding. When Darryl or anyone else cites a study, it will be ripped apart from 50 different angles and excuses will be given claiming the study was biased,...

Re: 100% lost and confused

This is an excellent post Steven. I like how yourself, Scott Kustes, and Mike OD reinforce the fact that there is no perfect diet for everyone. At a time on various forums and in the fitness world...

Re: What food do you force yourself to eat?

Nothing. If I don't like it, I don't eat it. Health benefits be damned. The only green vegetables I like are green beans and salads (raw spinach and lettuce).

Re: Protein powder damaged when mixed with oatmeal?

The protein powder mixed with oatmeal is fine. As for the protein bars, I've never made them homemade but that is probably the best way to go considering how expensive they are otherwise.

You're...

Re: New to Paleo

Guys... bananas are 100 calories. I don't really think the OP needs to be steered away from them as if they will hinder weight loss any more than 100 calories of steak or olive oil would.

Re: Carrots

Glycemic Index of a food is all but useless in the context of a meal. Eating a white potato with steack/chicken and vegetables slashes the GI to well below anything that will "spike" blood sugar,...
