Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

I wont disagree that the Mayhem guys weren't stacked, they obviously were. I was just pointing out the fact that there was no reason whatsoever to say that its rigged towards Froning and co. And its...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

This is just me, but I am sorta getting tired of the "rigged so Froning could win" stuff. There were NINETEEN team events. Aside from Froning by himself (ONE event), the entire team factored into the...

Re: 2015 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Snatch Speed Ladder just screams severe injuries to me.

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

Aww I was going to use the book "Infinite Intensity" to say the same thing. I dont know the EXACT dates of Crossfit and its "invention", but that book was written in 2005 and I think that probably...

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

Not sure if the person you quoted was being a hater, I think he was just pointing out the fact that PEDs allow athletes to train much harder and recover more quickly. You saying 1000s of athletes...

Re: Is Rich Froning the next Lance Armstrong?

Thats... wrong. Not for EVERY average Joe out there, but there are most definitely athletes that would make the games after a full year of PED use. That athlete probably already is somewhere near/is...

Re: Wildcards?

At the end of the day, it is extremely likely Sam Briggs would be finishing top 5 at the Games. The top 10 women in the world are not going to be at the Games. Yeah it sucks the events didn't work...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Uhh... What? Was that directed at a different post?

And I definitely foresee athletes sandbagging their maxes if a percentage would be used later, especially the top and bottom 10%. Why go extra...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

And not to keep beating the subject to death.. but Dara Ching went well below her knee on her snatch. I'm pretty disappointed with the inconsistencies.. maybe I just didn't notice it the first few...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

So I just started watching this weekends Regionals events and I know this has been brought up before but, the judging on the snatches is extremely inconsistent. After going back and freeze framing...

Re: Regional Competitor - "CF is not a Sport"

I thought that Leo Jenkins article basically stated this in the second portion? If I misinterpreted it then so be it, but I think this is exactly what he was getting at. And it is definitely a good,...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

Again, I am fairly certain you are talking about the ladder, correct? Which is not one and done, it is a time limit for the given weight. You can try 5 times if you had the stamina to keep lifting....

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

As much as you want to say that this is how the score is determined it is not, Andy is still "more right" if that is a thing. While its true each event is 1/7 of the total score, Andy went further...

Re: Regional Competitor - "CF is not a Sport"

There is a difference between 'unfair' judges and 'poor quality' judges. Unfair can be a judge who literally WANTS someone to lose. A judge who just doesn't have the experience can accidentally cause...

Re: Regional Competitor - "CF is not a Sport"

I really hope that article gets noticed (and maybe even used to help change). He definitely brings up some huge issues, particularly the judging. I didn't really think about it but someone with...

Re: Cross-Regional Leaderboard

That's really cool to look at. It's amazing how many people actually placed higher on the overall leaderboard and got beat in their region. Kara Webb is 5th overall cross region and Denae Brown is...

Re: 2014 CrossFit Open, Regionals, and Games Thread

For what it's worth she didn't bomb 2 events... She got 5th on the snatch. Her event 7 was worse (8th). I personally am all for competition but a handstand walk preventing an (obvious) top 5 athlete...

Re: Programming weaknesses

Well it really depends how much weight you work with, and obviously what lifts/movements. If you want to work technique on just about anything you can do it pretty much daily (I.E. - Snatch, C&J)....

Your #1 and #2 reasons are absolutely ridiculous. You don't like her? Okay.... And then you say that she hasn't improved over the last few years...

Re: 14.4 Tips and strategies

This is the second post I've seen stating something along the lines of "Wow the women are performing at the mens level". I think the other was that "the womens weights need to be bumped up". I am...

Re: inov 8 335 sizing

I have a pair of the inov8 Fastlift 335's (10.5) and also a pair of Nano Speeds (10.5) and the inov8's fit a tad snug, while the Speeds have a bit of wiggle room. So they run a little smaller than...

Re: 14.2 strageties/ scores

Considering there was no restriction put out by HQ can you really say that? Where in the rules does it specifically disallow that kind of bar?

Not trying to jump to defend anyone, but its a good...

Re: Pretty glad I didn't sign up for the Open

It was said once.. I'll say it again. This is BS. People CAN do them, whether you want to practice or not is the question. If you consider someone a "master" then I assume they can do MU's,...

Re: Pretty glad I didn't sign up for the Open

My problem is not with your point that the Open isn't for you, but it is the fact that you said "I simply do not have time to perfect my doubles." You're telling me you can't spent 5 minutes, maybe...
