We have 3 affiliates here in the Tulsa area, I have worked with all of them and they are all great coaches, but None of it is as great as the focused time on learning the movements. I attended my...

Re: Right Foot Pain 4-5 months after Surgery on it.

Can you be a little more specific about your injury and surgery. Was there a fusion? Hardware? I'm sorry maybe I missed something, but how old are you? It would not be uncommon for you to still...

Re: Torn Tendon/Ligament

Yes, it is not an uncommon injury. You either get surgery to repair it or you just live with it. Prevention is a little more difficult. Weighted pull-ups are a really big tax on the biceps, and...

Re: Oh man...

Marie,

Please don't judge the open mindedness of this board, by someone who only has 11 posts himself and uses that as a basis for judging the validity of someone else's post.

Re: Broken Ankle

Depending on what you mean by recovering, you could do anything from using a smaller box, step-ups, or pistols as suggested.

Re: LCL Sprain & Squats

Give a little more information, what were you doing when it happened, what caused it, and why do you think it was your LCL?

Re: Rehab Help? Two Questions

Sounds like so far you have a pretty good therapist, my best advice is to continue what your doing and be patient. She may find different things that you need to tweek, but for the most part you are...

Re: Rehab Help? Two Questions

From my experience, if you use phono and it doesn't work, there is something else going on, not just inflammation. If that's the case then no phono would not help.

Re: can heavy squats and deadlifts make my rotator cuffs worse?

What kind of pain? Is there a tear? have you had surgery? Most likely if you are in therapy I would recommend against any heavy deads or squats with rot cuff disfunction.

Re: Rehab Help? Two Questions

I understand the caution around implants, but i believe with the right settings it would be perfectly safe. As to the efficacy of phono, i understand it seems a little weird, but the science says it...

Re: Pain in the Neck!

You have to be patient and instead of doing the full number of pull-ups you have to reduce it, then next time you do a pull-up heavy workout add a few. NO there is no sub for a pull-up, not to get...

Re: Elbows!

To me it sounds more like a case of epicondylitis. unless there are some rhabdo specific signs, I would doubt that is the case.

Was this a PR type workout? or first time you have done this many...

Re: Rehab Help? Two Questions

First question, your right on working partial reps gradually increasing the range. Also, think about using a Grease the Groove approach to working it. You said that 10 to 12 reps would kill you for...

Re: Ankle and Foot Injuries from 400m WOD

Yes, if you have not been much of a runner, than a WOD like that could certainly do something like that to your body especially if you were on an unforgiving surface, are overweight, and/or have poor...

Re: Workouts after illness

You need to purposely scale down the intesity. Any energy your using to workout, is not going to be spent healing.

Re: Post-op WODs

It's true, if we hook you up to some fancy equipment and have you exercise with your unaffected side there will be muscle activity on the affected side. Now obviously it will not be enough to make...

Re: Tight ACL graft limiting ROM

The short answer is yes short squats are better than no squats. As long as your form is otherwise good, going through your full available range will not be a detriment.
