Re: ? on 5/3/1

Re: Marathon training 'the right way'

Ohh boy that Lydard PDF brought back some memories. I was friends with the guy who wrote that.

Re: Marathon training 'the right way'

Daniels Running forumula or Pftiz advanced marathoning are good books that teach you how to marathon train "the right way".

Both of those books include a weight training program for injury...

Re: Not Quite Getting It

If you are really lacking in desire to change you probably won't....

But if your general goal ever does change beyond what it is, I would recommend something simple. A basic weight training program...

Re: Confused on # of rest days

This.

It is like saying how do runners run everyday because it uses the legs. YOu have to think of metcons as just a cardiovascular exercise. You will have a few wods that fall somehwere in between...

Re: Develop a CF Program - How to program strength and WODs?

Crossfit journal tried to create something similar to this. You can't take original CF philosophy of constantly varied exercises and tie them into something as tight nit as periodized training....

Re: Will Excessive Running Diminish My Strength Gains?

Re: Critique my 5/3/1 program

It is still a monthy "planned" progression.

However, Wendler's program is unique in one way because while it is a planned monthly progression you do the AMRAP sets each week so with auto regulation...

Re: Critique my 5/3/1 program

Re: Will Excessive Running Diminish My Strength Gains?

Did we evolve to travel long distances...

Re: Will Excessive Running Diminish My Strength Gains?

Now that I have gained strength and mass I do feel more confident that I will be able...

Re: How to Start cf when you are alone

I would start off by learning to lift with proper technique. Something like Greyskull LP would be a good plan or Starting Strength. On alternate days do some aerobic conditioning (jogging, rowing...

Re: Why is Strength important in the Open?
