Re: Bodyweight only WOD's

Thanks for the links. I haven't been around for awhile and wasn't aware D&S was posting WOD's.

Of course you don't. It's probably because you have different goals. I don't see how this statement...

Re: Bodyweight only WOD's

Thanks Zack. I was not aware of that.

I have seen the various past threads and .pdf's that have been shared on this topic.

I'm really just curious if there is anyone out there doing this. After...

Bodyweight only WOD's

Just curious if there are any affiliates posting BW only WOD's?

I know of one site that posts daily BW WOD's, but it is not CF related:

http://fitness-solution.blogspot.com/ [w/f safe]

I also know...

Re: Another question on pull-ups

You can always experiment with a neutral grip (palms facing). Also, towel/rope pullups could be an option.

Of course, you could just accept the fact that you can't comfortably do pullups. Keep the...

Re: My daughter has a crush on Josh Everett

It's really funny. Keep searching. A couple of affiliates had it posted for awhile. Probably archived by now.

Re: Bow Hunting

Now that's my expertise.

You should really spoil yourself and pick up a Fallkniven H1 or F1 along the way so your new toy doesn't get lonely. :kicking0:

Re: Bow Hunting

Spoiling yourself, eh? :D

Used to shoot recurve when I was younger. I Look forward to getting back into archery when I (eventually) leave the city.

Last year, I started shooting at a local club...

Warren, excuse my misunderstanding of your original post.

As to the question concerning the need or importance of max squats...

Re: Are squats a practical strength movement?

You can also try Front Squats. Much more realistic application to life situations (I fear seeing the word functional pop up!).

FS: Weight is supported in front of your body, arms are active and the...

Re: Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Mine is the threaded bolt at the ends type- so no dropping I guess.

This isn't really a problem for me, though. I just wanted to be able to perform power cleans properly- the free steel pipe bar...

Re: Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Tom,

You used the evil word: order. Shipping will easily be 1/3 to a 1/4 the cost of the bar! :yikes:

Seriously though. That's something I never thought to ask. Unfortunately, I went and impulse...

Re: Salt + Torn Calluses: How many times to be fully effective?

I second the above. Never heard of either the salt or alcohol. It is really all about maintenance.

Personally, I find the serrations on a Spyderco perfect for trimming the callouses. Followed by...

Re: Tub of expired whey powder

I tried ON Gold before the stuff I have now- Allmax natural. Neither passed very well. I'm cursed to eating real foods

Re: Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Thanks for the tip Andy.

Spent most of the day at work sneaking to the computer and trying to find other places that might have cheap bars.

Then it struck me. The CF Gym here must have bars- maybe...

Re: Tub of expired whey powder

Aw. I should just listen to reason. ;)

I guess I'll toss it. I started browsing for other options seeing as how it will probably not work any better the second time around. Maybe when I get the...

Re: Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Ahmik,

Thank you for the help. I'd rather not spend 200-300$ on a bar right now.

Looking around these are available in my area:

Would this be an all right...

Re: Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Funny you mention power cleans. Was playing around with them using a 100lbs on the bar. Felt really different compared to the nice oly bars at the gym. I guess because nothing can spin?

I don't know. Sucker for punishment I guess? Maybe I wasn't drinking enough water the first time around? Hope for a change?

Cheap York Bar, or, a piece of solid steel pipe

Picked up this bar today for free. I'm pretty sure it is the same as in the link below. The guy told me he got it at Canadian Tire. Was wondering if anyone knew how much weight it could safely hold?...

Tub of expired whey powder

Found a tub of whey in the corner of my cupboard. It's the all natural, no flavour straight whey stuff. Expiration date on it says it went bad six months ago.

I have been thinking of giving whey a...

Re: You must watch gymnastics

Ryan,
The hypertrophy of the bicep comes from the straight arm moves. The amount of force created by crosses, malteses and planches on the elbow forces the bicep to grow in order to protect the...
