Re: Camille L.

I agree with Summer,

Pretty silly statement by Mark. Maybe Mark has never pushed himself to the point of exhaustion, where emotions are right on the edge. If he had he would know that a lot of...

Games and conspiracy theories

All,

I have been reading the forums and it is interesting to see that some people think that some of the events or scoring is skewed to help the athletes that CF HQ wants to win.

I totally...

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Sorry Joe if I misunderstood, I have just heard too many comments this weekend that Kristan should be competing with the guys and I thought your pics was a stab at similar humor.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I agree with Rebecca.

But unfortunately even if they do test they aren't testing annually lots of ways around passing a single test the day of the event, but that said I DON'T Think that Kristan is...

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

So last night Rogue was asking for volunteers to construct something epic throughout the night on their FB page. Does anyone know what that is yet?

I hope they pullout one big surprise for the...

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Killer Kage looks pretty brutal, it is tearing a lot of hands. Austin I think has the time to beat right now of 6:48, 2 guys have dnf'd on the bars because of grip

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Thanks Nicolas,

I am just not sure I agree with is logic. the difference between a 10 and a 14 second 100m is 40%

Similarly a 40% difference in a workout like he used would be 3:40 and about 5:10....

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

Nicolas,

Since you are using percentage compared to the winner it doesn't matter how long or short the event is.

Winner finished in 10 seconds, 2nd place in 12
100 points for first and 83.3 points...

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I could see that Mike, but that is what the other events are for to even things out. I just think the quality of win should be reflected.

Re: CF Games 2011 General Thread

I am not sure I like the scoring not accounting for the "quality" of the win. I mean if you destroy the rest of the field it should be reflected.

I like the 100 points for the winner but I think...

Re: How much is enough? too much?

In all seriousness I think 1 hour is the perfect amount of time for the majority of most Crossfit workouts.

10-15 minute warm up
5 minute prep
10-35 minute WOD
5-10 minute cool down/stretch
10-15...

Re: Lower Back Pain - Starting Strength v/s Beyond Brawn

Kirat,

I had done like you before and jumped straight into a strength routine and gone as heavy as possible. I hurt myself, but it wasn't the lift that hurt me it was poor form. I found that my...

Eating before bed

I have always heard that you should eat a slow digesting protein before you go to sleep. I was thinking about eating 7 egg whites, some ground peanuts and celery about 45min before bed. Is this a...

Re: New to Crossfit.

Jon,

Welcome to the best fitness site around.

For workouts like today when you see a specified rep and set number but no weight, you would build to your max.

i.e.
warmup
135 x 12
225 x 8

Rowing and Back Pain

All,

I have been doing Crossffit as close to RX as possible, on the Rowing/Double under WOD. I pulled really hard (1:30/500m) on the rowing machine, that night I started feeling my lower back was...
