Re: KB swing

Your hinge looks fine mostly. The shrugging of the shoulders is something to eliminate.

Re: High Bar Back Squat Form Check

The left knee is coming in a bit and the foot is pronating and the heel actually comes off the floor on the last rep. The symptom could be caused by a lot of things in the chain - ankle, knee, hip,...

Re: High Bar Back Squat Form Check

It looks like bar is helicoptering a tiny bit. Is there are reason you might favor your right side at all?

Re: American Swings vs Russian Swings

Well, I agree.

What I commonly see in video clips these days are an exercise that resembles a very bad two-handed kettlebell snatch without a lockout... I've never been a fan of the American swing...

Re: Taking steroids before joining the military?

No one is going to recommend you take steroids here.

Lifting heavy and eating a lot is a pretty good mass gaining method.

I thought this was a solid program (wfs):...

Re: Westside Made Easy

There are many of these on the internet. Consolidating them should not be a big deal.

The problem is that, despite what we ALL want to believe, sometimes it's not as easy as finding the one or two...

Re: barbell back squats w/ KBs hung from bands

If you want to add a little instability without going crazy, suspending chains so that they are above the floor through some or all of the lift will be enough to help tighten up most people's...

Re: Crossfitting mom at whits end

I read your post as both a "get some perspective" thing, and also as a reward/punishment. I think it's fine to present that to a kid as an FYI, but anything much more than that would be, IMHO, a...

Re: Crossfitting mom at whits end

I think the whole idea of equating food to burpees is terrible. While you can probably have a "Biggest Loser" or "Fat at 15" extreme weight-loss camp situation and be successful in terms of body...

Re: Crossfitting mom at whits end

A focus on technique mastery should be a given for EVERY trainee. I think that should go without saying, but I know it does not.

Basic weight training and lots and lots of walking.

A simple food...

Re: Squat is going backwards.

It looks much better Alex. Much more solid throughout and consistent depth at parallel.

I think you might benefit from moving your feet out a tiny, tiny bit and focusing on externally rotating the...

Re: Shifting left on squats...HELP!!!

Knowing more about training and injury history is crucial with things like these...

"Rehab" the squat pattern. Work on mobility/flexibility, "core", and unilateral movements as needed.

Re: I suck at swimming

You don't need to seek out a TI-certified coach necessarily. Any competent swimming coach should be able to give you technique pointers and drills to practice.

Re: EDT is a fantastic program

Thank you Brian.

Richard,
I don't use EDT as prescribed that often, but it's a nice, simple, time-efficient way to get quality volume in. With a CF crowd, I'm not sure it's the approach I'd follow...

Re: EDT is a fantastic program

It doesn't have to be "cardio intensive". You don't have to make every session a met-con. The goal is to add reps and weight.
You should watch this video muted (seriously!), but this is me doing a...

Re: Are rest days REALLY necessary?

I'm talking about exercise addiction.
I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread at all... My guess is that "training 8 hours a day" is a rarity, and often is not a solid 8 hours of time at...
