Stretchy Sore

I did my first session of Bikram Yoga with a friend. I was able to do the whole 90 min. Now my hamstrings are fairly sore, but it feels different than the soreness achieved from lifting or something...

Re: How to strengthen and harden your mentality?

Do more things. Your can only physically train so much. Read more, learn to play an instrument, or learn to formally dance (ballroom is not effeminate). Become more well rounded. Humans are capable...

The Stitches Window

What is with the window to get stitches? I cut myself yesterday, tried taping and glue but it failed, went to get a stitch (small cut), and they told me I waited to long and taped it up AGAIN.

I...

I wear wrestling shoes for everything. If make a total switch to minimal shoes, expect your feet to hurt for a while (2-5 wks). But then you will never have a problem.

I initially wore socks with my...

Re: Knock-Kneed Beginner with the Major Lifts

For the power clean

What I noticed is that your feet shift when you go to catch it. NOT bad, but when you do this, your knees appear to track inward as you squat. It is hard to tell from this angle,...

Re: Track and Field

Should I do intervals? And what times/kinds?
In swimming we would do things like 10x100m @ 1:30 each. We beat the interval (make it in 1:05), and rest until the 1:30 is up, and continue. What is the...

I will be spending 2 years away from home doing humanitarian aid service. Where? I don't know just yet. I won't have access to barbells or anything fancy. Just my body, things to grab on (pullups),...

Re: Sprinting only

I would recommend you stop sprinting between classes. I would find that a bit odd. But whatever works, go for it.

Sometime in January this year, I decided to run a mile. I had run 4 times since...

Re: DOMS / Soreness

If your goal is improved fitness, and you just trained yourself to a point where you can no longer function. I believe you just made yourself less fit than before.

Try swimming, yoga. I sometimes do...

Re: Bodyweight Strength Training

I believe Steven Low is writing a book at the moment. I don't know when it is being published, but I want it.

I have a similar issue. I will be gone for 2 years and have no access to weights....

Re: Muscle Mass at the expense of Bodyweight movements?

I purposely put on bodyweight so that it makes the bodyweight stuff harder. I feel it gives me a greater capacity for increase. Like automatically weighted pullups.

But I did it because I will be...

Re: Exercise to focus on tummy fat

What about the when athletes hit the "wall?" I thought that is when the body has used up a lot if not the majority of the carbohydrate store, and then starts using the fat. Also, our bodies don't...

Calories in and Calories out neglects the Calories burned during...

Re: Young female athletes and squatting

When people don't want to listen/learn about squats, I have them do burpees or up downs.

I am assuming you are having them air squat. If not this doesn't apply.

Burpees add another element to the...

Pull the edges over your...

Re: Questions about sleep.

Your calorie consumption seems low. Hopefully I won't be attacked, but you could try GOMAD for a week. When I get over trained, I do GOMAD for a week (or more). The spike in calories seems to help...

Feet looked a little wide and on the immediate drive up, your knees collapse inward. Drive knees out.

Your hips drove up faster than your shoulders. When I do this, my weight shifts towards...
