Re: Burpee Mile

The only forward progress is the broad jump after the pushup. I wasn't concerned about time, just completion. I first started sets of 15-20, then to 10, then the last 1/4 mile I was doing sets of 4....

Re: Burpee Mile

I recommend to do the mile in cool weather. 90D is way too hot. Dehydration would be a big problem I think. Mine was in 41 degrees. Also, you have to wear very heavy leather gloves to protect your...

Re: Burpee Mile

This mile came about by being involved in Crossfit. That's where I got my motivation. Would have never even considered such a thing. Thank you Crossfit for pushing me to do things I never thought...

Burpee Mile

I did it. The Burpee Mile. 3 hrs. 38 mins. Probably 700-800 some odd burpees. One guy ran by "I don't want to train for whatever he's training for". I scared a german sheperd to attack mode. Another...

Re: Increase number of pull ups Beginners Ladder

What I did that changed my pull-ups dramatically? 1/ moved my bar high enough to keep me off the floor. 2/ RECON RON pull-up routine. :pepper:

Re: Requirements for WOD at Home

Interesting. Never had any issues with shoulder on SDHP. I do think that if I'm experiencing some sort of pain (other than soreness from the exercise), First I need to stop. Second, I need to step in...

Re: My first WOD was today and it was a hero WOD.

Just for a second, maybe before you begin, think of those HERO'S. What they did for us to allow us to Crossfit. Gave the ultimate price. Yes, the Hero's WOD's are tough, but compaired to what they...

Re: Requirements for WOD at Home

Eric is right, I do a home Crossfit gym too. Don't have one of those thousands of $$ rowing machings. So when an exercise comes up that I can't either do or don't have the equip. I always check the...

Re: First workout at a box

I did jumping PU's at first, for being too weak and too fat to do a good one. But then I remembered the ole CF saying..."if you are weak in one area, focus on it". So I dialed up RECON RON PU...

My kids are gone now, but they live very physical lifestyles up in Alaska. One is ski patrol in Alyeska. Due mostly to when they were young, I'd take them on backpacking trips and hikes. We didn't...

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

Christy, I think you will find this challange adds trememdous confidence to any burpee laidened WOD once you've completed it. I had a WOD the other day that had 150 in it, and now I think "no big...

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

As I have said in my previous posts. Once you hit about day 70, you don't want to skip any days. With the WOD's along with it, makes for a heavy day, especially if you double up.

Re: So.. I'm doing it.

Yep, in my garage the 135 lb barbell still weighs 135 lb. :highfive: Congrats on the start. It takes a bigger person to take action on talk, than to just talk about it.

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

The way I saw it was yes, you still must do the WOD's. That's why I did my Burpee Challange early in the morning by themselves. That way I had them behind me when I went to the WOD after work. Now...

Re: 100 Burpee Challenge

One thing I did during my challange was to put a paper on the wall of my area. Mark each day as I accomplished it. You could do graphs or other visual references to show your daily progress. It got...

Re: 100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

This is what I found around here.

You add one burpee per day all the way through to 100. Ex: day 57, do 57, day 58, do 58, day 59, do 59 etc.

The Rules:
1. Use Burgener's burpee standards for form...

Re: 100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

Here I thought this thing was tough, then I read about the Burpee Mile!

I too was doing them in sets of 10. Then when I pushed it to 20+ sets, things went a lot faster, and that was better. I...

Re: 100 Burpee Challange FINISHED!

Actually, once I was in the 50's they started to get easier. I had started them with sets of 10. By the time I was in the 80's I was doing sets of 25-30. Doing the Burpees in different places taught...
